General Blue Umbrella

I read your post, and it essentially disregarded everything we know as fact in favor of insulting the devs and complaining. This dogmatic, cynical, and unreasonable attitude lately has infected many of your recent posts. If anyone but you wrote it, i'd assume it was written by a troll, but I know you are a passionate fan, hence why I continue to try and reason with you.

The last we heard of the Rival Org was 2006, and BU showed up in 2007. The dates fit perfectly. UCorps says "our resurrection is at hand", but the executive also says "MY resurrection", which can't be literal if he is talking, obviously. BU hasn't been in public affairs for very long, with the first reports of their operations being no earlier than 2014. They have been resurrected in that they are now a prominate player in world affairs again, with the BSAA under their thumb. They have regained the position of Red, to a considerable degree.

The executive may not be Wesker, but that doesn't change anything about BU itself. He could also still be Wesker, as he was present in a story from 2012. He could also be a clone or copy. It could also be misdirection.

Even Batman and Newsbot are in agreement over many of these connections, and they would fight about the color of the sky. These statements lately are just mean spirited, and serve only to shut down constructive conversations. It's as if you WANT the story to fail.

I'm sorry you feel this way buddy, but the lack of information on the current story line is really not doing the series any favors.

also, you and I know the full backstory details and all the possibilities yes, but to the casual fan or new comers it just looks like a soft reboot with Chris, Umbrella and Wesker all over again.

top that with forum members constantly posting incorrect information without doing proper research and you should be able to easily understand my frustrations.

I can understand frustrations, believe me. But the vague information is the point - it's a mystery.

The fact people just assume it's a lazy reboot is why I made this thread in the first place - so people can get the information they missed out on. What is most frustrating though is when people who know better just start dismissing information and become dead set on hating it.
I want to enjoy it, and the supplementary information and RE7 has given me faith that the writers are making an honest effort into making a more unified story.

From Rev2:

Just one little sample is all I need to change the world.

But the world is already changing. And not in a good way. This latest incident in Africa is just proof. This kind of madness will keep repeating itself until nothing is left but tragedy and despair.

The world needs someone to take charge and lead it through these dark times.

The localization is basically made-up on that part.

Yes, many deranged tragedies have graced this Seym, and will soon unfold all over the world as well.
This time, when our name echoes once more throughout the globe, we will deal judgement to this vacuous world.
The plan my mentor Mr. Morgan originally put into action in Terragrigia, I will merely change the actors again.

Oh jesus...

Clancy WAS going to be the final boss in NaH and Lucas was suppose to be arrested. Dusk was wrong, because his last info was from January 2017. Restart happened after that. What he said about RE7 and later about RE2 was verified by other source to me. And oh boy, once you one day learn what happened to End of Zoe DLC you will be pissed.

Negative. His last info was after the DLC had changed because he spoke of how some of the mechanics had been changed, the Umbrella points system dropped and how a glitch with the turrets was corrected. He also didn't mention anything about Clancy being the final boss (at least on here) until only a few weeks before the DLC was finally released.

I also decided to dig out the kaitai shinsho again and go through some more stuff. The book was obviously written months before the game was released and way before the DLC was ever changed.

"Clancy was forced to play Lucas' 'death game challenge' and burned to death."

That's because gameplay reboot happened long before they changed story in NaH. Dates in Banned Footages were supposed to be a clue that Clancy ain't really dead.

He didn't mentioned Clancy being final boss simply because he didn't want to spoile it. He said so himself at the same time. He just cave in.

Also to address earlier discussion, it's imo pretty apparent this was Chris's first actual mission with Blue Umbrella. He sure had some contacts with them via BSAA, but it doesn't look like he was with them earlier on any mission.

Ad Wesker. He's not back and won't be ever back in his true form.

Ad Blue Umbrella - don't be suprised if they stay an actual good guys and don't turn into "good old Umbrella" or rival org at all. ;)

@Dark_Chris: if Blue Umbrella is not rival org at all wouldn´t that be basically a complete disregard to Umbrella Corps single player mode being nowadays considered part of official/canonical events of the series?

That still doesn't explain the actual guidebook which is fully inclusive of all the Banned Footage stating Clancy 'burned to death' in the Happy Birthday tape. The book was complied and released before any story changes were made and the DLC was still on schedule. So if Clancy was at one stage to be a boss, it can't have been the original plan. I would also suggest the partly redacted dates in some of the banned footage is an indication they are not meant to be taken too seriously in terms of chronology. 21 and Nightmare are clearly just mini games at best. The actual story-based Daughters has the full correct date displayed.

Again, the book suggests otherwise, stating in two separate sections that Chris was leading an 'investigation team' closing in on The Connections' European HQ in 2014, which caused them to move her on the Annabelle for fear of capture from a rival organisation. The BSAA have no reason to capture Eveline and there's nothing to suggest they would even know of her existence given the end credits suggesting she wasn't even perfected for showcase until that year and suitable clients existed in the Americas.

I've no doubt Wesker will never be back unless in a flashback.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Blue Umbrella are not the rival company. I said that earlier in this very thread. I hope otherwise of course for obvious reasons but yeah it wouldn't surprise me at all if they are not just exactly who they say they are - which would only make their comeback even more of a pointless disappointment.

@Mark5 - According to CVXFreak's diagram he released having been in consultation with Capcom for his book, Umbrella Corps is not canon. I think he later clarified by saying 'mostly non-canon'. This is a shame because there is some great material in there but we'll just have to wait until it is cleared up completely.

"Investigation unit" can very well be BSAA. Capture -> analyze -> dispose off. Not to mention Blue Umbrella too doesn't seems to want capturing her in NaH. I might be wrong, I'm not hellbent on it, but Chris's behavior in NaH is telling me this is his first mission with them.

@Dark_Chris: if Blue Umbrella is not rival org at all wouldn´t that be basically a complete disregard to Umbrella Corps single player mode being nowadays considered part of official/canonical events of the series?
That is correct. Not sure why Dark Chris is so quick to disregard UCorps. By that logic, I could disregard Rev2 and say Alex could still be out there. If he isn't convinced about the Rival Org connection, that's one thing, but calling them good is just ignoring the story.

CVX's book comment doesn't change that, unless he can provide a developer quote. Besides, even "partially canon" is enough to validate it, as that's the entire premise of the game. He could mean everthing but the Experiment should be thrown out, and that doesn't change anything.

BU being the Rival Org? Likely.

BU being evil? Certain.

The connections to Wesker are also certain, who just so happened to have planned out something identical prior to RE5. That being a coincidence is beyond comprehension, especially with the 2007 date.

The denial of a Wesker revival is just wishful thinking. I won't pretend to know what CAPCOM have planned there, as the hints obviously exist.

I believe the Clancy stuff though. Dusk's word is good enough, plus Dark Chris and News Bot can confirm it through sources. It explains the dates too.

"Clancy was forced to play Lucas' 'death game challenge' and burned to death."
The Mold can revive the dead.

What exactly does he mean here:
He means that the island will be the starting point for a wave of global bioterror, though it's vague as to whether by his hand or Alex's.

the book suggests otherwise
Might also just be wrong. Even it linking Blue Umbrella to H.C.F. may simply be an assumption on the writer's part. We don't know otherwise.

According to CVXFreak's diagram he released having been in consultation with Capcom for his book, Umbrella Corps is not canon.
According to cvxfreak:

the game itself will never occupy any official timeline but all the stuff in the background can be true
That's what Capcom itself thinks too
Since the whole story is in the background (whether THE EXPERIMENT or multiplayer), we can consider it to be true. At least until a contradiction comes along. The game was also written by Yasuhiro Seto, who also wrote Heavenly Island.

Not sure where it originally came from but the technical assistance link from the kaitai shinsho seems to be a myth.

According to the correlation chart 'Mysterious Organisation' is linked to 'Umbrella?' / 'Chris' via the word 'Investigation'.

Not from me it didn't. I only checked it for myself for the first time this morning.

Now i wish i had checked it a lot earlier.

@Evil Resident: I clearly wrote "IF".
Why even mention it? I could say don't be suprised if Albert was a female alien from the planet Wuptron.

The Shinso link always seemed flaky anyway. The most compelling evidence comes from UCorps.

The Kaitai Shinsho is flaky all of a sudden eh?

You’ve been vigorously referencing it for over a year and a half now.

You and (you know who else) need to stop referencing materials only when it’s to your benefits.

This is seriously getting old.

And no - UC had nothing remotely close to the correlation chart linking Umbrella to the Rival Company.

You’re guys entire theory was destroyed in one sentence.
