I'm not a big RE4 fan in general, because RE4 basically zapped away a lot of the reasons I like RE to begin with. But all the same, I feel like this remake was splendidly done.
Sure, it had a degree of omitted content like the other remakes, but this was way more enjoyable than 2 and 3.
My opinion of 2 has become a bit more lukewarm than it had been. I guess my disappointment really lay with the game not being a 'proper remake' like the first remake in 2002 is. As in, you know? How things were mostly the same as the original, but with great new additions. I think a lot of people preferred the thought of that as opposed to the plot being reimagined.
