OT OT Game Discussion

One of the most honest reviews I came across.

Personally tho, I won’t be supporting this game due to the unethical decisions made by Naughty Dog and the fact they tried shutting down many youtubers for sharing an opinion on the game before it came out.

Over 70% of the staff was either fired or quit over the ideological changes made to their storytelling and creative decisions. I do not like Niel or Anita Sarkessian for botching this story. Like CohhCarnage said above, I wish I could love it, but I can’t.

At first, I felt so sad after the ending. My sorrow has waned a bit. While I can see why people got upset, it is a horror game and the world is brutal. So people get too attached to the story and when something bad happens, they assume the developers had it in for him, or her. Kind of feels like a lot of fans discredited the game fully, over the plot alone, when it's otherwise amazingly well created.

Nothing impressed me. Most of the “reveals” were cutscenes and no gameplay. So sick of developers doing that. SHOW US MORE GAMEPLAY FOR REVEALS!

I guess the industry as a whole took a big hit from the pandemic, so it’s whatever to me. This event felt like a waste of time overall though, anyone who was genuinely excited for it I feel bad lol.

I agree. There was nothing across those 4 days that interested me, besides one indie game called Death of Rose.

Unfortunately, I don't think Capcom's "August 2020" update is happening today. Resident Evil Village is probably going to be shown off at Tokyo Game Show.

Don't even hold your breath about seeing a Silent Hill game any day soon, guys. My friend Michael Does Life is discussing Resident Evil Village right now.

I've never really gotten into the Silent Hill series. I watched a playthrough of the first game a few weeks ago, and I was pretty impressed, even though the story was kinda confusing. It'd be nice to see it be remade, but from the looks of it that isn't going to happen anytime soon. I can only imagine how horrific the Incubus would look like!

I always liked the third one for some reason. The shopping mall was creepy as anything. Heather was such an interesting character. It's sad how they didn't continue her story after 2003. Maybe she'll have a kid too, and be targeted by the cult again. Unless the sequels were not in the same continuity. But it's a shame when you get companies ignoring such well liked characters.

Games today just aren't that creepy anymore. There's a few big hits, but only a few. Although games seem different now. Now it's just cheap jump scares.

Thumbs up?

Or...

Thumbs down?

At least it's a nice throwback to the FC angles type survival horror games that we all grew up playing... :)

A true gem of the video game industry: excellent writing, great acting, memorable characters, gorgeous setting, masterpiece soundtrack, and soulful emotional story.

I don't often see discussions of this game, but the lack of attention does not detract from the amazing achievements that the developers made in the late 1990s. I highly recommend this game.
