General How could Oswell return

I was thinking that at this point the only way to bring resident evil back together would be to bring back Oswell as a active villain for a short time, considering the timeline what technology is available to accomplish this in universe?

Nah. They need to fix the middle of the story by replacing 5 and 6, and whatever they're currently doing with 4. Change the events of what happens to Wesker, Umbrella and Ozwell entirely without conflicting with 7 and up.

5 isn’t perfect because it’s the beginning of them using proper environmental storytelling which they’re incompetent at, but 6 was literally 3 games smashed into one in a attempt to tell a entire tv season of story in one game. They’re bad but in entirely different ways and at entirely different levels of severity. 5 is fine 6 is bad for being the odd man out of the second trilogy and shitting the science bed.

Basically, it's time to move on to sequels. I think going back to old stories is preventing Capcom from being as creative as they ought to be in this day of age.

Yeah, we got RE8. I personally thought it was an embarrassment to the franchise, in general. Like somebody who you invite to a big party, but you feel bad afterwards because they made an arse of themselves in front of the other guests, and you feel dumb for bringing them along to show you up.

I think a entirely disconnected story is a recipe for disaster. Ultimately everything has been United by being in someway related to a lab leak in 1998. There’s really no other proper set up.

There is basically no need for Spencer's return, because both of his "children", Albert and Alex, are somewhat alive and aim to fulfill the old man's dream of forced evolution and a new order. Albert or his heir even uses Umbrella for this purpose.

But to answer your question, the "ceremony" technology of that Alex Wesker improved and used was invented by Spencer, possibly inspired by Mother Miranda's ceremony. Perhaps somewhere out there, in a forgotten family castle, Oswell's daughter or son lives with a split consciousness, since the technology wasn't stable.

Another Hitchcock-like scenario for the series.

The both of them are dead and one of them is in a fly over game.

Alex Wesker is now in the body of Natalia Korda, so I hope they go somewhere with that story someday.
I have a hope basket too let’s see what’s in it
1. t+G return
2. Someone actually fusing with a virus proper and not dying immediately
3. Explaining the Cadou and their development
4. New tyrants from secondary infection from new biological agents
5. A long term villain or story arc outside of the B-Track games
6. The return of Rachel Foley
7. The return of Alexia from a single cell
8. The return of a proper horror BOW.
9. Explain WTF was up with Donna
10. Explain WTF was up with the Cadou in general
11. Explain why Viral Agents aren’t covered under the Second Amendment
12. Explaining the G-Virus and how it does whatever the current writer needs it to.
13. Explaining the Ancient Ndipayans
14. Explaining why umbrella focused on profiting off of BOWs instead of AI, Quantum Computers, Directed Energy Weaponry.
15. Explaining why Umbrella’s Military was incapable of cowling a bunch of runaway nerds.
16. Explaining what the Uroboros does and why no one who has been injected with just it has ever survived.
17. Explaining why people aren’t turning themselves into mutants to acquire powers and why there isn’t a mutant rights groups.
18. Explaining why no one has yet to market any of the perfected T viruses as cancer cures.
19. A developer explaining why the Ndipayans are so similar to the Wakandans, or if they’re both based on Slan or something.
20. The return of a full adapter Lisa Trevor.

Just a few things I need.

They have 8 branches of the BSAA and 10 of the companies competing in the black market introduced in UCorps to play around with. One of them, Shen-Ya Pharmaceuticals, was featured in the Heavenly Island manga. Now that BSAA may become the new “big bad” those other branches may split off and will have to be dealt with in future games.

The possibilities are endless really as there are dozens of loose ends that still need addressing. The Family, The Connections, Brandon Bailey or either Wesker returning in some form, it goes on and on.

Now whether they can be creative with these ideas and make a grand masterpiece of a game down the road will remain to be seen, but there is so much going on in the background to the mainline story it’s enough to make your head spin.

None of that sounds like a fresh enough idea to end up in a mainline game. All of that sound like plot from a revelations 4 game or something.

It fits the realism aspect a little, but it’s transgressed into using science to explain magic. Like it makes sense in universe but not what anyone wanted.

Additionally the problem with continuing the story past umbrella is that umbrella is the perfect villain for the world. Imagine having to explain why another company could get as far as umbrella did and still mess up bad enough to personally cause another outbreak. Having outbreaks done by terrorists don’t work because then you just send in 4 of the 3 dozen special forces trained survivors of previous outbreaks to go and fix it in like 12 hours. For a new company you would need to explain
1. Why are they making bio weapons, which were miraculous for the 90’s but now automated warfare is reasonably cheaper and more legal?
2. Why are they storing bio weapons around civilians?
3. If you’re making bioweapons because it’s easier to produce than robots what’s stopping other people from reverse engineering them using the almost century old Soviet cloning technology that must surely be sold in the toy department by this point.
4. If your using bioweapon research for transhumanism why even make enough bio weapons to cause a outbreak.
5. Why don’t they have a ready and deployable cure if not a outright vaccine for their workers.
6. Why are you using viruses to evolve humanity instead of investing in human machine interfacing which is far less dangerous and easier to upgrade and won’t make you into a sterile poor man’s thunder warrior.
7. How the hell did you get the fact you’ve started building your universe’s equivalent to dirty bombs in secret labs past every sane human in your company and the numerous watchdog groups and government agencies that now likely exist and have been shown to be actively looking for a whiff of progenitor research.
8. Wonderful, you have despite causing a mass biological agent outbreak created a functioning superhuman serum and not ate a rocket or if you’re as baller as Hypnos a Anti-tank rocket, how are you going to convince the numerous world to not steal your research? Additionally you are now a BOW who is responsible for creating a outbreak, something often overlooked is that people in the RE universe rarely consider Mutants to be human with Rose making it seem like they’re treated similarly to people with AIDS, so it’s unlikely you have any functional rights if not are treated as a invasive species, despite your intelligence.
9. You’ve also created a product that’s based on stolen research likely owned by blue umbrella a known anti-bioweapon company, this means you don’t own your work and YOU are technically their property, investors have been noted to flock away from companies that are known to do bioweapons research, and you’ve sunk several years of resources into a project that legally can’t be sold.

This is why it almost has to be someone from umbrella.

It fits perfectly.
I think creatures in RE past the 3rd game lack a good explanation as to where they’re storing the energy and resources to undergo the massive, violent transformations they often do. The tyrants can be explained by them having more efficient fat storage and presumably eating whoever they find, plaga fall under similar rules, C-virus mutants should be burning out on their own realistically and are too similar morphologically to plaga mutants. Veronica really doesn’t explain where the energy is coming from, and cadou phases between realistic and anime at the drop of a hat.

You can still find in the game how gigantic Dimitrescu, who has mutated into a dracula-like form, complains of exhaustion. How much she needs blood, a lot of blood. It's the same with Jack Baker, who cried after mutating how hungry he was.

These forms are especially dramatic owing to the first-person perspective, but from a different perspective they are not even close to the largest monsters in the series.

And they is hardly different from G that, in front of Leon or Claire in the original second game, grew a functioning tissue in a matter of seconds from basically an embryo. And now imagine that this is not an embryo, but a three-meter curvy woman.
