OT OT Game Discussion

I've always liked the third one. I love the mall section of the game. I wish the series had more scenes like that, as the others were mostly set in dark and rusty places. If they ever do a sequel, it would be interesting if you had a Nemesis type enemy that followed you around, but not Pyramid Head. Even one of the producers felt he was overused.

Hearing all this news that Konami is keen to focus on console gaming again has me both intrigued and worried, considering the last several entries were nowhere as great as the first four made by Team Silent. But at this point, I feel so starved that I would take at least something that is somewhat mediocre, as long as it is not too terrible.

I am concerned that they will reboot the franchise. It is not necessary. The reason being that only 1 and 3 were really sequels. The others just had vague references, and were otherwise barely connected. But due to the fact that we've not had a sequel since 2012, and because remakes are very much in demand with other franchises, don't be surprised if Konami decides that a reboot should occur. Personally, I would rather have a new entry that is still taken place with all the rest of the series.

Anybody a fan?

I love this series. "The New Nightmare" should have received a sequel. I felt that it had a ton of atmosphere, and the partner zapping system, and use of a radio to contact the other characters made it feel so unique.

Sadly, Atari ruined the series after 2008 and the movies sucked. Yes, there is a sequel. It has a Korean actor in place of Christian Slater.

Still my favorite Uncharted, by far. 3, while still good with beautiful setpieces, takes the lowest place in my rankings.

This is some sad news for fans of the games made by Tango Gameworks. Ikumi Nakamura, you will be dearly missed by us, the fans! :(

I accidentally posted the video by Michael Does Life, but you should check that out too, and laugh at how silly he is.

The second game was on the PlayStation. In Europe, it is known as Alone in the Dark: Jack is Back.

I still have it in my collection after all these years. I think this was one of the better pre-RE titles of its generation. ;)

I still have this on PSX, in the US it was called One Eyed Jack’s Revenge. Odd game, but memorable.

I enjoyed a New Nightmare on Dreamcast, didn’t realize they have a Steam version.

Played the hell out of The New Nightmare. I remember I played it around the same time as RE3, the puzzles were very creative.
That Library boss with Carnby was a pain in the ass though.
Still one of my all time favorite survival horror games with the paranormal theme. Sadly it is gone and we are left with a bunch of uninteresting horror games where all you do is hide and seek like Outlast. And people complain about RE being versatile, that's why it is alive and keeps things fresh lol

I don't even know what this game is about, with all the drip feeding we've had, but I don't get what Michael Does Life is saying either. Nobody has to start with RE (1) to be a "true fan" (or whatever he implies people are). He repeats that so much. You can just play RE4 first or any other sequel you want, then do the catching up. It isn't hard to do.

I'm now awfully worried about the future of The Evil Within series. Ikumi was the head designer, and she did a damn good job of bringing this series popularity. It's a sad, Konami kind of an ending, but hopefully the split was amicable, and there's not any underlying conflict going on behind the scenes. We never really know what is happening behind closed doors, and with fallen outs occurring.

It can bring a tear to a glass eye.

I really like how the first game is considered the true start of survival horror games. The others before the reboots didn't have the same tone. 2 was a game with you mostly shooting pirates, and 3 is a western, but they still fit in with the genre.
