What do you think is next? RE:1 for the 30th? Rumored RE:0? Long overdue RE9? This year or next year? We've been spoiled, it feels like the longest hiatus in a long while

RE9 next. I suppose RE0R could be plausible if they decide to throw it together real quick and rush it out the door.

See RE3R for reference.

I, of course, hope that they do not do this and keep a good consistent pattern going of alternating mainline and remake releases every two+ years.

The time period between RE7 and RE8 was precisely: 4 years and 4 months, so RE9 is on cue to be released very early 2026 (Capcom does not like revealing a game and releasing it within the same calendar year). Probably near exactly 1 year from the time of this post.

Hi.

I hope you don't mind if I chime in a little. I no longer really visit forums, as I had bouts of depression offline, and the odd issue with certain trolls online giving me dumb abuse just made me lose interest in being involved with comment sections anymore. Nutjobs and greed have concurrently ruined the digital world.

But to answer your question, I think it's possible that at some stage, Capcom is likely aiming for some sort of 'bookend' to the franchise. As in putting out a few remakes then following that up a short while later with RE9, maybe in the same fiscal schedule.

Well, I think they're likely to put out a remake trilogy first, then release RE9 to (kind of) end the mainline series. Even saying that, I don't think RE will really ever 100% be concluded, as it prints money. But I think people have a point when they say holding on to characters who have aged well is keeping Capcom from bringing forth new heroes. But then they would milk them as well. 😑

There's also a ton of unresolved angles in the series. Like with Natalia. I feel this is somewhat important. But then there's other storylines that I care for, but I feel like Capcom doesn't meet fans halfway. Such as Billy never returning after he left Rebecca in the forest. And there's definitely other examples we could throw around.

In fact, this video I seen on YT is rather interesting from the standpoint of a longtime fan. The guy basically sums up how Capcom has so many characters they constantly use in sequels, but some plot aspects are quickly ignored thereafter or never completely furthered to their biggest potential. And that's certainly a fair point he has decided to bring up...

All the best. :)

I think all signs are pointing to RE9 being next. It's been in development the longest from what we know and with the director teasing it back last Summer, I think a reveal sometime this year is very likely. RE0 Remake is probably after and then Code Veronica after that.

I reckon every game will be remade in the modern style, including the original again. Although I wonder about 5, as well as 6.

I cannot see Capcom caring about 6 in the least. Nobody else really cared much for 6 either.

Kind of funny not releasing REREmake on the 30th and saving it for dead last but it works either way I guess

It is impossible to predict the next remake at this point.

Well, maybe not absolutely impossible, as the previous 3 remakes were 2,3, and 4 in that order. That means logically 5 should be next right? Again, almost impossible to predict but based off of the information we have, it seems like the highest odds to bet on.

RE0 hardly has any bosses as it is. So I wonder why they would cut the scorpion fight, if it should happen. I don't think they would do that, but giving how RE3 had so many things omitted, you kind of start to fear a similar thing could be occurring with the likes of M-Two. 🦂
