RE9 Trailer 2

New character art:

Immediate takeaways, will sit with it some more later:

Raccoon City is so Outbreak in the best of ways, it's a tone I can't quite describe. The city street shot reminds me so much of 'Outside J's Bar' it's uncanny. The atmosphere in this game looks to be so true to early Biohazard yet an advancement in every way, that's probably what I enjoy from this the most.

Switch 2 trailer is the one I saw first and could immediately tell, it's not exactly pretty and won't be where I play it, but I can definitely say it's a feat to even get it running there and launching day one at that. Kudos.

Maybe we're just seeing more of her, maybe something changed? Alyssa looks even better to me, like a direct evolution of her OBF2 character CG art. Fantastic looking.

Delicatessen & Grill 14 are both references to restaurants in RE2 & RE3 respectively. (Grill 14 is also family-owned which might explain that it's a chain rather than a coincidence?) The city is very New York-ish with an elevated railway and cars running beneath. It's also very metallic and dirty, definitively resemblances the urban areas surrounding J's Bar and the Apple Inn.

On the Umbrella logo, my bet is that Rhodes Hill was a sanitarium financed by Umbrella (there's probably a lab beneath it) and since it's a place for the mentally ill, that's perfect for covering up cases of the "cannibal disease" that started pilling up in august 1998.

About the 2nd and 3rd pics, I'm pretty sure those are t-Virus zombies, the woman dressed as maid is maybe having a mental breakdown as she's transforming? no idea what's going on there.

I personally am almost positive that the "Hooded Man" is quite literally a zombie that got somehow spared from brain damage due to partial adaptation. As evident by his skin and the fact he uses a medical magnifier (can't see without them, zombies have milky eyes) his body is heavily affected by necrosis which is a classic symptom of Progenitor-based viruses like "T".

That's an interesting theory that I can get behind.

Makes for a good antagonist origin story that's relevant to the OG games without recycling the same villains over again. After almost 30 years, who knows what's possible for some victims in the aftermath.

Visually, reminds me of Alex Wesker post-transformation a bit, otherwise. Those soldiers from Quake 4, too.

Agreeing with all that.

The tone (color and lighting?) here appears to be close to what I liked about the atmosphere and style of Outbreak and the earlier remakes.

Alyssa's new key art DEFINIETLY makes her look better. Maybe the new trailer does, too?

Overall, wasn't expecting this trailer today, but I'm getting more hyped. Curious to see how the "zombies" will move compared to what we got in RE2 and RE3 remakes. Seems their tech has advanced. Like Grace, I'm expecting the creatures will have more realistic, sporadic movements than anything we've seen before.

I did not expect a new trailer so soon, thought we might have to wait until TGS/State of Play later this month so this was a pleasant surprise. I'm absolutely loving everything I'm seeing. I agree that Alyssa does look better in this footage and I'm loving the aesthetic of Raccoon City so far.

I'm very, very curious about the villain and enemies in this game. The villain looks like hes wearing a very similar coat to what Wesker wore in RE5 (wonder if that's intentional or not) and appears to be suffering from necrosis. We also get a small glimpse at two female zombies(?) in the trailer as well. I'm seeing a VERY interesting theory going around where this is some sort of evolved variant of the T-Virus that doesn't decay the brain. Could we be seeing Evil Dead-like zombies in this that retain intelligence and use weapons but still hunger for flesh?

There's another interesting shot in that trailer that shows someone driving up to the The Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. Based off the demo, we know Grace is abducted and wakes up there. So who could that be I wonder? Something tells me we might know by the end of the month... It's also very exciting to see the classic Umbrella logo in all it's glory again. Can't wait!

Much better trailer than the rest. Got a location, some enemies, looking good... well not the switch 2 version but hey if thats what you want thats cool. So seems we will have a classic "mansion" like hub location for Grace and I guess Leon will get more of a action RE style adventure. I just hope we get one or two other Outbreak characters to show up.

Still looks like more of the same after 7 and 8, old game title connections or not. Thought Switch 2 would be sharper for some reason when they have skipped PS4 this time. Reminds me of old cross-gen releases like Alien: Isolation that still got a PS3 release years ago. Would anyone here play the previous Ethan games again on the Switch?

I don't see much new content here, just rehashes of previous trailers. Hopefully next trailer will be better.

This is one of the more interesting theories I've seen, kudos. I definitely like where you're going with this and think it would be a great link between the older and newer stories.

George & Yoko are the only ones I see room for, both helped Alyssa on her investigation during the Raccoon City Incident.
