I kind of wish they would stay on the straight and narrow with their storytelling in the RE universe. For years now, it has been an absolute chore making sense of the plot, just in general. It's bonkers as to how we've came to be where we are.
It began as a series about a viral outbreak turning researchers into zombies. Evolved years later to include parasites, druids, vampires, and meh. Capcom just doesn't ken (know in Scottish) what to do.
Apparently, both the originals and the remakes are canonical. Which is just... blah. Makes no sense how that can be the case, when one character did specific things.
Sherry gets infected in Claire A.
Claire saves her with a vaccine.
Leon never met Kendo in Leon B.
Only one person killed the gator.
The
Chronicles games are odd.
RE3 butchered practically everything.
Barry never saved Jill, I guess.
You know? Like, just how can we follow all of this?
Even
Silent Hill doesn't do this. But then again, most of those games don't particularly connect to one another at all, except 0, 1, and 3 all being about the Masons...
