Yeah. Certainly "NOT" a worse game than Code: Veronica, but a solid game in its own right. It made sense to have more action, as there were more enemies and Nemesis following you wherever you explored. The Evil Within games also give you a lot of guns and stuff, yet that's a terrifying experience. It also feels like they threw in vibes to The Last of Us, and the Silent Hill series (which is hopefully returning soon) and a game can be scary no matter what the camera angles are.

I can hear the "Free From Fear" Save Room Theme. It's one of my favorites in the series. Great now im getting even more impatient.
