General Random Thoughts: Biohazard/Resident Evil edition

Like I said, revisiting 1998 needs to stop, lest Capcom will be stuck in Raccoon City for good. It begins to feel like Capcom is another one trick pony, not capable of doing anything other than constantly rehashing old storylines. ๐ŸŒ†

And they say a magician needs to try new tricks. ๐Ÿช„ ๐Ÿ”ฎ

There could be a Sony event soon, so I think news on the series will come this summer anyway.

Probably gonna be a case of Capcom promoting RE9 first, as the first game's anniversary is not until 2026. That will likely happen next year.

Gonna try to not be too mad at Capcom going forward. I'll judge their games accordingly as they are released. But I won't be worrying about what they do so much any more, as there's no point.

At the end of the day, they're gonna proceed on regardless of how we feel and potentially wreck the franchise with more mediocre titles. But at least they cannot Star Wars the hell out of the classics. They are always gonna be there.

It's hard to keep up with all the remakes and revisitations to Raccoon City. The year 1998. Europe. Whatever Capcom is doing. But why must this be the case? ๐Ÿค”

Let's see, here. What are they gonna do when no more (good) games can be remade? ๐Ÿ˜†

I wish I had a decent survival horror game to play. It's boring being in my flat all day long, watching horror movies. Some are entertaining enough, but lately I have found most of the ones I watch to be a slog. Luckily for me, I know a site where you can watch free movies, so it's not like I'm losing money since someone else uploaded them.

It's sad, but I feel like my childhood or teenage era is getting kind of replaced with loads of mundane, torpid bull crap. I don't think gamers these days know what they missed with the early RE games, Silent Hill, and so on. Those were the good old days. But last gen was solid, with The Last of Us 1 and 2, The Evil Within 1 and 2, and Days Gone. Then comes the slew of God awful Silent Hill games after 2008. The movie was decent, but then they just copied it for the games. And RE7, etc, are not the best, to be honest.

Admittedly, it's to do with the money side of it. Capcom has to cater to action fans, and Fortnite and all that rubbish has presented a problem with upgrades and microtransactions up the ass. Games now have to be so simple, with dumbed down puzzles. But the gameplay itself just doesn't feel right.
