RE9 Nvidia Path Tracing Trailer

It looks to me like we are going to be able to explore sections of the city with cars driving by and people wandering around. You can see when they switch back and forth between the 2 screens the people and cars and camera are in different locations, so it's gameplay they are using to compare not cut scenes. Are we getting a semi open world to explore?

Interesting, plus no reason to show frame rate info in a cut scene (albeit fake frames due to frame gen), so definitely playable areas. Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s some of the scrapped DNA from earlier builds being more open.

The segment with Grace in 3rd person walking along the street is perfectly synced when they switch between views (same camera and movement) so that might be an in engine scripted scene but the previous 2 1st person views of the street have a stationary camera in a slightly different location when they switch between views and the moving cars and people are in different locations. Also the camera position in both of those seems strange for a scripted scene, unless you have full camera control.

I'm not sure exactly what we are looking at in those city sections but can't wait to find out!

I've had a really close look at the section with Grace walking down the street and I was wrong. You can clearly see that the camera is in a similar but slightly different position when they switch between views. It's also not that the views are just at different timing, the x position of Grace and camera angle is slightly different in each. This means that you have full position and camera control in that scene. I think this means that these areas are actually explorable and if so how absolutely incredible this is, it looks amazing!
