Around the time Resident Evil 4 came out, some classmates talked about the game, especially about Leon. The PS2 I had was chipped, and I would ask my uncle for games. I told him I wanted to play the Resident Evil games so I could play as Leon, and he burned two discs for me: Resident Evil 2 and 4. I started with 2 for obvious reasons... At first I didn’t really understand the controls because I was a kid, but eventually I made it to the police station, and once I heard the theme it felt like a reward for me and fell in love with the franchise ever since

Thank u so much for this giveaway and congrats on the anniversary!

Awesome trip down memory lane, those times stick with me deeply as well. Please do stick around, tonight should be an epic night for Biohazard!

When I was a kid, I watched my dad play Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. I thought it was a super fun game with lots of action, but some parts scared me so much that I'd look away. Things like the lab with the Regenerators, the chainsaw man, and the sisters were terrifying. I didn't work out the courage to play it until I was 14, but from the moment I started, I loved it. Being able to play what I'd watched day after day for years, both with fear and excitement, felt incredible. I even managed to complete things my dad didn't, like beating Separate Ways and the main game on the highest difficulty. From then on, I became a fan of the series, and Leon became one of my favorite video game characters. I'm really excited about this new RE9, and seeing Leon in it makes me even more excited.

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this

Likewise, which is why I pondered it long and hard, but ultimately felt not enough eyes got to see this which felt a bit unfair. I'm going to push it a bit more this month for the holidays, but rest assured, the giveaway funds are secured and I'm excited to make some fellow fans happy! Thanks for understanding, appreciate your contributions.
(1) In order to be in compliance with giveaway laws and not be considered fraudulent or deceptive, you need to provide the date when winners will be announced.

(2) When you extended the entry period from 11/30/25 to 1/30/26, it wasn't simply an ethical issue but a legal one. Lack of entries is generally not considered an "unavoidable" reason for extending a giveaway. Additionally, if any changes are genuinely unavoidable, they need to be explicitly stated (ideally much in advance, not after the original end date) and explained by the host of the giveaway. You should update the main post to reflect this, as right now it simply reads as if nothing happened to the original end date.

Anyone with common sense knows this is not a fraudulent giveaway and wouldn’t even consider it as such. This forum has been running for 20 years, why would Yama do something like this just to damage its reputation?

I hope you are not one of those giveaway hunters that only feel grateful when they win and move to the next one, but saying things like "giveaway laws" or "legal issues" is such a jerk move if I'm honest

Just accept it as it is

There's no need to attack or hurl insults. What I said above is nothing out of the ordinary, these are established rules in the US for giveaways.

And they're established for a reason, to respect people's time and ensure fairness. All I'm asking for is compliance and transparency about the date for announcing the winners, which is a fundamental requirement for hosting a giveaway.

I'm not outright attacking you. I just said it was a jerk move to phrase it that way and somewhat weird, first and foremost, because you were the only one who had an issue with it. It had already been clarified to you before your post today. I don’t think there’s any need to extend an issue when there really isn’t one. Twenty days have passed, no one who joined earlier had a problem, and newcomers won’t either because the entry period has already been updated.

Ah, but little jabs are ok right 🤣 Anyway, let's move on.

I just said it was a jerk move to phrase it that way and somewhat weird, first and foremost, because you were the only one who had an issue with it.
Correction, I'm the only one who commented about having an issue with it. You can't claim to know what others are thinking. Many folks have a tough time speaking up.

It had already been clarified to you before your post today.
You're right, the reason for the extension was clarified to me after I asked. Still, compliance dictates it should be explicitly stated on the main post. But the big thing is the date for announcing the winners. That's a baseline requirement.

Twenty days have passed
I'm bringing up now because I recently learned about these regulations.

This is simply to show some love to the community out of my own pocket; no donations, no ads, nothing more than love for the series and community through out the years. Compliance applies given there are paid entries, data submission, etc. None of those things are being collected, only the winners will need to supply a shipping addy after winning. 2/2/26 will be the drawing and winners will be announced in this thread. I've raffled a car for my automotive event brand and had to work with a legal firm to do it correctly, this isn't one and the same. Please DM with any questions, let's leave this to entries.

OP updated to reflect the 2/2 drawing/winner announcement.

ANNIVERSARY:

We'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who has ever contributed as far back as 2005 and as new as 2025. To see some more of where we truly started, please check out our older 5th Anniversary article as it details some fun evolution and the inception of the site. In short, Biohaze originally started as a thread during the early 2000's on the GameSpot forums in which I moderated at. Eventually we outgrew the thread and I decided to create a website to house our community. One driving point about Biohaze was that it never was a replacement or direct competitor to other fan sites, but instead a complimentary addition. We worked closely with other communities to form a hub and bring positive and passionate fans together from all areas. Many staffers and early members from our site went on to do very special things in the Biohazard community, some such as: @cvxfreak and his best selling book, Katastrophe and her tenure at Capcom, @TheBatMan and his Podcast, Newsbot and his never ending lore work and so many more.

If Biohaze was known for one thing during this span, it'd be community. We brought Outbreak players together with a database, play dates and competitions. We won the Kijuju competition by Capcom, where many of our users were able to meet IRL and compete against other communities (all before social media). We attended and broke news from TGS live during an era where content creation was in its infancy. Interviewed developers, voice actors and so many awesome people, Being a fan site for 20 years, we've seen ups and downs that tie in with the series itself, the evolution of technology, social media and many more factors.

Originally Biohaze housed an encyclopedia worth of information by members and staffers. It was a tough task as the site was also designed to stand out visually during the time, so incorporating more was a very custom process. As time passed however and tech became much more streamlined with mobile, as did social media, much of what we worked on was simply better left in the past. During this time I considered closing the site, though many urged me to keep history alive as it meant something to them, as it did to myself as well. Admittedly some of the transition was bumpy, going from a visually intensive sliced site to something more responsive and modern took a couple of tries. Our forums housed 15 years worth of discussion and while it did back up along with the site, it wasn't able to be transferred as we had hoped. (A future mirror may be possible, however WayBack Machine now does a very good job at being able to browse the past site here and forums here.) After careful consideration we decided to pick a few of the points Biohaze could stand out in 2025 with, trim some fat and double down on the main course.

Today going forward we want to keep the focus on what made the site thrive in the first place: community and exclusive long form. While social media houses infinite amounts of community, there is still a place in our heart for being able to write an in depth post at your own leisure, receive in depth responses and know that discussion will be archived safely forever. That is our commitment to you going forward. In addition to this, to provide you with 100% credible news, opinion pieces and exclusive hands on content (such as these closed door RE9 impressions). We're happy to start a new phase on our 20th year and not be closing the book. Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the years and most of all the great relationships made due to it. We're 100% ran and kept up internally, we don't take any donations this day and age. All we ask is to contribute with your interactions as we love to see it! 💕

NEW THEME:
We're excited to introduce over 100 forum and site upgrades, both behind the scenes and at the forefront. The most fun one for us to show you is the new 20th anniversary light theme, reminiscent of the old Biohaze. Change anytime between the 2025 Dark and 20th Anniversary Light on mobile or desktop by clicking the theme on the bottom of the screen.

congratulations on your anniversary!

I'm actually a new fan to biohazard, but i find it quite interesting because I study stuff in the same vein as what Wesker did... so maybe I'm just looking to join and betray umbrella hahaha. Anyways I feel blessed to discover this series and every game i've played (I'm up to Re Rev) so far has been a gift that doesn't stop giving.

Thank you for hosting this giveaway and keeping this community going strong for so long, here's to many more years.

I'm pretty young, so I wasn't around when the originals came out, but I vividly remember the first time I got involved with the franchise, watching a cousin of mine playing RE5 in the living room. Truth be told, I didn't like it at first and I forgot about the saga pretty quickly. Some years later I found out about it again from the RE2 remake and I've been a fan since. Aiming to play the classics this 2026 alongside Requiem!

Hi, I'm Aryan from India.
I'm a huge fan of resident evil movies. My parents especially my father used to watch it so I also watched with him. As I was a child so my parents restricted me for using internet so I didn't even know what internet actually is and I never used it until I got my first phone in 2019 and access to internet.
I used to play mobile games and watch youtube videos and then I found out a channel BeastBoyShub (Indian youtuber).
At that time he was one of the only youtubers who played different genres of games and slowly I liked his commentary and loved to watch his gameplay especially horror. One day I was just scrolling through his Playlist and fount out a game "Resident evil biohazard". That was the first time I got to know that resident evil is a game and then I searched up online and then I understood, the movies are inspired from the games. I was astonished.
I was his gameplay video of RE7 and loved it and hoped that I will play it sometime sooner. In the late 2023, I was able to purchase PS4 and then I played RE7 myself. It was thrilling experience as it was my first horror game in ps4.
Watching gameplay video is completely different from playing it ourself. I was usually scared whenever there was a boss fight and many I got jumpscared even though I had already watched the gameplay previously. RE7 is an amazing horror game especially the old house part where we needed to find out Mia. The jumpscares were good as well and unexpected mostly.
Great game!
Re8 village was a good sequel, I even liked it very much and I loved the story of it the most (especially dlc), I literally cried by the last scene.

Hoping the same for RE9!

Genuinely, I've been a fan of the franchise not as long as when people have said their starting day of their immersion in Resident Evil, I reckon I joined 2 years ago with barely no experience playing the actual game, just via Youtube gameplays that thoroughly explores the game including the items that reveals the narrative, so the confusion and doubt when it comes to making a claim that I can use to interact with the RE community was embarrasing.. and initially I never plan to be in it since thinking about the complexity of the lore including the remakes and original versions, it muddled me as I was contemplating whether what narrative should I stick onto, and it just occurred to me that I CAN just dissasociate the distinct version lol. I really was more sort of a lore person and I started watching RE0 in which I'm surprised after finishing, it wasn't that notorious specially, it literally provides the foundational background on how and who started it. My fav is Billy btw. And as I progress I just discovered that there are more underground games I haven't seen yet like outbreak files, dead aim, etc.. and I felt left out for unknown reason and almost discontinued my journey on the franchise and IM REALLY GLAD I DIDNT its overwhelming since I've seen scenarios that I wasn't even supposed to, at least not yet until the prior lore where the piece of the installment I'm at, thus; I sadly got spoiled I remember it being Infinite Darkness, such a good brief series. The timeline of each of the narrative was muddling therefore I made my digital diary and interpretation of each narrative and analysis of the characters as well, and it is such a exhilarating thing to do cuz I said to myself that "I should delve more deeply" I was that INDULGED. Currently I have limited amount of RE games on steam including the latest installments and I'm almost close on completing it, not until RE9uiem came and boy my eyes fell when I saw IT, so here I am trying how long and effective my fortune would go :p and also I forgot to mention that I was already enlightened about the crucial things regarding the lore where I'm confused at!! Resident Evil truly is one of a kind experience experience I would conclude it as.

My favorite installments at present are:
- RE1 Remastered, due to its haunting environment and atmosphere (also the notorious Trevor family I love them George being dragged or referenced up to the present is so awesome to me)
- Code Veronica, I loved the intro she's such a badass and so far my favorite version of Claire Redfield, especially mentioning my beloved Ashford family specifically the twins and their disturbing lore.
- RE6, It is widely known for abhorrence by the community but when I get to experience the game, I dont think it's that horrible, it has some flaws I'll agree to them with that, everything about this game is so.. 'mature'? like the files, and their whole vibes, generally. The play style also I'm fond because it is similar to arcade machiness!!
- Lastly, Outbreak Files, Majorly for its picturesque scenario environments, variety of characters to play as: my favs are George, Alyssa, and Yoko and also their inclusive gaming feature.

P.S - truly I'm in awe reading selectively picked stories on how it went for them, especially them being introduced to this when they were young and just WOAH cuz we never had the privilege. I hope I wasn't late hehe

A few more of us and we can overtake the website 🥹

I'm oddly anticipating for the craziness and unpreventable mouths of every person here, once RE9uiem has been released
(Funfact: I found the new title of the installment sort of awesome, because you can just shortly mention the latest game, from ''Resident Evil 9: Requiem'' to - just 'RE9uiem' the long phrase merge in one word, idk random share lol)
I wish I discovered this online community more sooner RAHH, regardless, Im in gratitude for your kind referral and introducing me to this enthusiastic space 🤟
