It's interesting in the message from Nakanishi one of the things he talks about is how the game is similar to Revelations. Here is a quote that was translated by AI:
"On one hand, this title is deeply connected to the main storyline and world of the Resident Evil series. If I were to compare it to something I've worked on, it would be similar to Revelations in that regard. We have put a lot of effort into the budget, and I believe that compared to Resident Evil 7 and Revelations, this title will be the one that fans will be most excited about."

How do you feel about the game being confirmed as a first person experience?

I don't mind. But I do prefer third person, though.

The view in first person does allow for those big, in your face encounters. We can all remember our first Jack Baker chase.

I still think we have to wait and see if the translation is correct and what it means exactly. If it is first person will there be a third person option like in RE8 Gold Edition . I ran the full video transcript through a bunch of different translators and most said something like "horror from a subjective perspective" and a couple translated that same sentence as "horror from a first person perspective". That is all we know at this stage, but hopefully it will be cleared up on Wednesday when the content creators can start talking about the private preview that was shown at SGF.

I can confirm that was a mistranslation. Definitely look forward to tomorrow.
