Mercenaries or raid mode?
YES! I was hoping they would let us know soon what is happening with future content 
I really hope the mini game in May is raid mode or something similar as Leon's credit and upgrade system would work perfectly for that, but I did notice that Nakanishi is wearing an Ethan Must Die t-shirt

I'm kind of hoping it's not an Ethan Must Die mode as it was probably my least favorite bonus mode the series has had. Luckily all the other DLC RE7 got (I even liked 21) was fun so I have hope whatever it is will be cool. I think if it was Mercenaries though, they'd probably name drop it right? Raid mode would be cool if it was more like Rev 2 over Rev 1 but I'm not sure RE9 really has enough levels for it unless they were to draw from other RE engine games. I figured mercs would be the cherry on top and they’d rightfully call it a day, but adding a co-op mode and a story DLC? That sounds way too good to be true.
I ran the Japanese transcript through various translators, both the official subtitles and google translate say "a mini game", but all the other translators I tried either said "a little mini game" or "a small mini game". So I think we have to temper our expectations and it won't be raid mode or mercs, probably something more like a mini game from RE7 banned footage 1 & 2
Right. I forgot it’s not just Leon’s game—could be a small mode as you’ve said that just features Grace or something.
I'm starting to think the mini game in May could have Tofu in it and that his easter egg is a hint. So a new version of the 4th Survivor is a reasonable possibility where you could do the first successful run as "The Commander" and then unlock Tofu.
It might also be how they officially confirm that the Commander is hunk.

As much as I want Raid with multiplayer or Mercs, I think we may be getting something smaller like @Burton said. Whatever it is I truly feel it was cut to be polished, for a game with this much dev time the end post game menu having nothing after the first completion was probably the only true let down the game gave me.
