Sorry for the horrible Barry Burton impression
Hearing lots of yapping about Wesker potentially being mentioned in the trailer. I can see the resemblance perfectly, especially the Uroboros version.
Yeah, I'll hold on to any tiny shred of hope lol.Not that I’d complain anyway
That's a good point if there is a "back from the dead" character it would more likely be Spencer.I want Wesker back too but I feel like him coming back in a game that doesn't feature Chris or Jill doesn't make much sense. I think they may save that if they ever follow up on the BSAA using Bioweapons plot they set up at the end of Village. That said, Victor is definitely wearing the same coat as Wesker so its very possible he's somehow connected. I think we have a higher chance of seeing Spencer come back this game. Capcom focused on him heavily in the road to Requiem video they released.
I originally appreciated the idea of moving the needle story wise after a lack of doing so in RE4, especially when at the time we were looking forward to “taking down Umbrella” in the early RE 3.5 promo footage. But after the dust settled it was done horribly story wise and inside a soulless RE4 clone that outside of a few engine enhancements never came close. Fun videogame not a great Biohazard. 6 triple downed on that sentiment.Rather than do the cliche thing and bring Wesker back, Capcom should just completely re-write 5 and 6 for their inevitable remakes and give the guy more development with his organization(s) and an actual respectable send-off.
Capcom's worst mistake was RE5's sloppy, rushed, dumb narrative as a whole - having Jill and Chris find Wesker in one of Spencer's many mansions without any lead-up, and then killing Wesker off in a fucking volcano. I still refuse to believe any of that bullshit is canon, including all the games leading up to RE7 finally stopping the bullshit and saving the series. People thought RE4 OG jumped the shark, but with 5 and 6, it's not even close to the damage those titles without Mikami did.
The REmake storyline will take precedence for me, without question, if Capcom finally rights their wrongs made in their prior mishandling of Umbrella and Wesker's end - but please, do NOT "bring Wesker back" when there's a chance to retcon the absolute worst era of the entire mainline series with these latest remakes.
Retcon, rather than "return" - then decide what to do with him from there, with new storyline/events that would still align with the narratives of 7, 8, 9, etc. for the future. If they remake RE1 (again), Code Veronica and RE5 correctly, there will be NO reason to bring Wesker back in order to satisfy fans who want more of his character. I'd personally even ditch all the bullshit in 6 completely, and make that Wesker's final appearance, by replacing whoever the fuck 6's random villain of the week was.
Fans know deep down that Wesker was given the shaft - his time cut short in the most braindead, un-survival horror-like way possible - and that's the real reason why they want him back so badly, but not as much as a regretful Capcom does, I'm sure...
I don’t know about all that. They ain’t got to wait a decade or two just to bring him back—All the viruses that’s been seen in the games have a biblical level of power, it’s easy and nobody would bat an eye. And the best situations for a Wesker appearance will always be the games where you can smack around the enemies.Rather than do the cliche thing and bring Wesker back, Capcom should just completely re-write 5 and 6 for their inevitable remakes and give the guy more development with his organization(s) and an actual respectable send-off.

Who the hell do you think Wesker is? There’s no better way for a walking trope to die than in a game like 5/6.Fans know deep down that Wesker was given the shaft - his time cut short in the most braindead, un-survival horror-like way possible -
