RE9 Resident Evil 9 plot rumours...

Leon and Jill star.

Chris, Barry and Rosemary are supporting characters.

The game will have zombies that act like the RE4 villagers, armed with weapons. 🧟‍♀️ 🧟‍♂️

Mr. Simon is the mysterious new villain, possibly in cahoots with the Connections from RE7.

It takes place on an island somewhere unnamed as of yet. 🏝

I'm so excited. 🤤

I really hope Jill is one of the main playable characters, it's about time and long overdue. It will be great to interact with the classic characters again (winter will finally be over).

I'm happy with RE4 style enemies, what I don't want is common enemies with machine guns.

I just finished a revisit of RE7 where I finished the game on Madhouse difficulty for the first time (was amazing). So I'm definitely pumped and ready for what comes next.

I don't like shooter based stuff either, but I cannot help but think it's inevitable if Capcom desires to put it in. Because I think the aim of Umbrella has always been to develop the ultimate type of bioweapons, so gunfire may be a bit part in that. As was the case with Nemesis.

As long as the story is strong with the gameplay balanced between action, exploring and feeling vulnerable, it should be the best RE experience to date.

I'm good with fire fights if they make sense, like if we have to take on some new(Blue) Umbrella operatives or something. What I didn't like was gun fire fights with common enemies in RE5/6.

That's what it's all about dude, very good description of what RE should be!
Having revisited RE7 recently I think it got a lot of that right, but what it was missing was more of a connection to the classic characters. I'm really hoping RE9 is going to deliver.

I would not listen to any rumors, even from Dusk Golem (he has been wrong before) as they do nothing but cloud the development cycle and -worst case scenario- could actually delay the development process. All we know right now is that Koshi Nakanishi, who directed Biohazard 7, is directing 9, that is all. Having said that, I hope the game is more like Not a Hero than the 7 base game because I felt 7 didn't really return to form as well as it should have. Not a Hero at least had potential, especially in regards to Blue Umbrella.

That's what I long to see as well.

The fantasy nonsense in RE8 felt like a distraction from where they left off with Jack Baker's demise, and I just really want us to find out if the BSAA are up to something.

RE7 ended in an exciting enough of a way, then it felt soured by having to suffer through Ethan's trip to Dracula's domain. LOL.
