IGN reports on the director and storyline behind the upcoming project:

"Seems that the game is being helmed by Masachika Kawata, who brought RE4 to PS2."

"As for some more interesting info, word is spreading that the game will be split into two parts. The main mode will be a new adventure taking place inbetween Code Veronica X and RE4, while the second mode will allow you to play as various RE characters in previous locations from other RE games."

It's been seven years since the release of Code: Veronica, but it seems fans of the series will finally be able to tie up some loose ends, for starters.
