Movies Online.ca reports that even though RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION, the third in the film series based on the zombie-blastin’ video game, is still in production, plans are proceeding with a fourth entry, to be titled RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE. And casting has already begun: Jensen Ackles (pictured), one of the leads of the WB/CW genre series SUPERNATURAL, is currently in talks to star as Leon Kennedy, a character from the game franchise. Ackles and Jared (HOUSE OF WAX) Padalecki star on SUPERNATURAL as the Winchester brothers, who travel across the country seeking out occult phenomena in general and the demon that has killed their loved ones in particular; the new season debuts Thursday, September 28 on the CW (see Fango #257, on sale now, for a preview). Ackles’ credits also include the lead in another video game-centric chiller, last year’s DEVOUR.
