NORTH AMERICA

The North American version was the first to be released anywhere in the world, and is the original version. It is uncensored due to the ability to blow heads off of enemies.

JAPAN
 The Japanese version was the second to be released anywhere in the world, and is the original version. Unique to it is the Easy Mode level. The Japanese version is different from the North American version because there is a limit on First Aid Sprays, and money is less abundant. The Japanese version is censored because heads cannot be blown off.

U.S. agent Leon Kennedy has been tasked to look into the abduction of the president's daughter and his investigation has led him to a mysterious location in Europe. As Leon encounters unimaginable horrors, he must find out what is behind the terror.
