NORTH AMERICA
The North American version was the second to be released anywhere in the world, and so far is still exclusive to the PlayStation 2. It can read Memory Card data from "Resident Evil Outbreak" in order to unlock all Collection items in "Resident Evil Outbreak" as well as unlock characters from that game in "Resident Evil Outbreak File #2". The North American matchmaking service, Sega SNAP, is used to bring the game online for free.

JAPAN
The Japanese version was the first to be released anywhere in the world, and so far is still exclusive to the PlayStation 2. Unique to the Japanese version are the voices that accompany the ad-lib function of each character. It can read Memory Card data from "Biohazard Outbreak" in order to unlock all Collection items in "Biohazard Outbreak" as well as unlock characters from that game in "Biohazard Outbreak File 2". The Japanese matchmaking service, KDDI, is used to bring the game online for a small fee.
