Mobile gaming platform GREE has been working with Capcom on an updated version of Resident Evil Mercenaries Vs., releasing in North America this Summer and on display at E3 next week.

Currently, the game has a teaser page with the following text: "Ultimate solution to RE Mercenaries VS.! Whole new graphics, gameplay, social element is strengthened more!!"

I wonder if this will be anything worth-while.

I think I'm going to pass on that one. I'm beginning to painfully realize that just because it has "Resident Evil" on it- doesn't mean its worth my money. Mercenaries sucked (In my opinion) and wasn't worth $40, I don't see how this would be any different.

Ah, if you are referring to The Mercenaries 3D, I feel just the opposite. $40 may have been a bit steep for that game, but I've played it soooo much. Then Revelations came out, I played it for about a month and now I've gone back to playing M:3D.

In terms of an iPhone game though, I really can't get used to touch screen controls.

I have no idea what the hell GREE is but I'm gonna pass. Mercenaries feels like something should just stay a playable extra mode after beating a game...

Wtf is a GREE? well if its a console I don't want to spend the $200-$300 just for re mercinaries

It's a mobile gaming network, people. Network. Same one utilized to play the Resident Evil: Outbreak Survive game(Japan). So at most, they'll be some social aspects added to such.
