Why are the creators of Resident Evil so crap at keeping continuity? I mean seriously why put things out there unless you are 100% certain that's where you want your story to go? Not then a few years later pretend like it never happened.

May I ask about what are you talking about? You mean those crappy RE5 ads? Because if so, they were never meant to be more than advertising.

Well they are advertising their own games one would imagine - but I am not just talking about that - its like the end logs at the end of RE3 they make it appear like Ada was just a code name, and she was changing her name for her next mission - cut to RE4 and she's Ada again. And also at the end of RE2 showing a picture of Claire and Sherry on a motor bike, which again if cannon is right never really happened.

Those RE5 videos were viral ads produced by an external company. It's like the case with ORC. Capcom gives these companies a rough draft of the scenario and they build on top of it. All these materials are always treated as non canon unless referenced in future main entries.

As for the epilogues... sometimes the direction of the story changes between each title. It's expected some of the material is left aside. Hopefully RE6 can manage to close some of those archs and at the same time move forward.

If we want to get realistic though (barring the actual canon), do you REALLY think it's totally unlikely and impossible that these characters wouldn't develop some kind of psychological "aftermath" of their missions, so to say? Especially Chris and Jill. Leon too I suppose.

Chris DOES look really stressed out in RE6. Then again, most of his team gets infected and blows up, so I don't blame him. But also when arriving in China, he looks the most depressed I've ever seen him. It's horrible to see Chris like that

What are the chances of a release delay? :P

This huge an announcement of 6 with a release date makes a delay almost impossible barring a trainwreak.

Any other series or games would have a delay certainly. I think only Naughty Dog has made this big an announcement of release but theirs was a year in advance.

People 'freak out' (Read: PTSD) over less worse stuff than that, I'd probably have PTSD after any of the shit Chris has gone through.
