It doesn't count in my book.

It does in mine. It may not be a traditional fighter, but, it's still a fighter, much like Brawl isn't traditional, but, it's still a fighter. Just because something doesn't work the way Street Fighter set the formula doesn't mean it can't be a fighter.

I have Brawl, Dissidia, and Duodecim and enjoy all 3.

No it doesn't because its not competitive? This thread isn't about playing vs AI players. Brawl counts, it's just a terrible competitive game(super turtle oriented and the game is dominated by one super easy to play character.) Melee on the other hand is a great competitive game.

It's a fighting game, I'll allow it.

Erm, you can play against other people on local wifi as well as online through Ad-hoc, so not sure what the 'VS AI's' part of your argument has to do with anything.

And MvC2 and 3 have super easy to play characters, doesn't mean they aren't competitive.

And just like you can turn off all the BS random items and final smashes in Melee and Brawl, you CAN turn off a lot of the overpowered BS in Dissidia as well. It's 100% entirely possible to play Dissidia in a competitive way. There's even the 'Arcade' Mode that pretty much takes that kinda idea in mind of just having all basic chars with their attacks and not focusing on all the overpowered gear and leveling.

If someone wanted to play competitively with Dissidia, they could easily follow that kinda setup of set levels, set allowed gear, etc. just like how Smash tournaments turn off items and play on Final Destination for the most part.

In any event, I main Ultimecia and Cloud of Darkness

So now we're arguing about what's competitive? Geez, half of you that post on here aren't even competitive players. We should really call this thread "Fighting game lovers of the reading rainbow age" because all most of you do is read frame data, dodge challenges, and beat scrubs and think it's an accomplishment. Every time I come on here, I see no type of competitive talk. Not even any form of competitive proof (No match vids, no combo vids, not even any "tutorial" vids). A good majority of you always have some lame or consistent excuse as to why you can't play some matches or just completely ignore challenges altogether. I'm not out to prove I'm better than you, when I already am most likely, I just want to play and to see you guys post in a competitive thread, I'd think I'd most likely get some form of comp. After all the talk and hype I've read on here about Marvel vs Capcom 2, which is an extremely good fighter WITH great online, everyone just abandoned it in favor of a scrubbier friendly game and have the nerve to say "Oh, it's outdated, oh it's too different, I'd probably play it like Marvel 3 and get waxed". That alone, in all honesty, just completely shits on a true competitive mindset, because there should be no real reason why no one plays MvC2 anymore. Especially when it's online is the best damn online for a fighter there ever was.

Hell, I don't even see match making in this thread. All I see is just talk, talk, talk, and evidence of read, read, read. Let me make this clear: Reading stuff about a fighter and just playing a fighter, does not make you competitive. Even if you know more than the average scrub, it still does not make you a competitive player.
