Wait, before you 'GameFAQ's' me, let's do this right.

No runners up, no lists. This isn't the end all. If you can't pick one, flip a coin. A brief reason why and some media will suffice.

Definitely a tough choice, especially with all the great characters in Mikami-san's titles. But I had to go back to some of my better times playing games and one a bit more obscure, especially then. Tatsuya Suou from Persona 2 Tsumi (Main Character) / Batsu (Supporting Character).

First off, especially at that time, RPG's were fairly cliche. Games like Soul Hackers and Persona were twisted bottles of fun in a market otherwise lead by wooden sword wielding eight-year-olds. The main character of Persona 2 is a senior in high school who is taken in by a very twisted fate. In short, the character is a quiet young man who is very serious about priorities that are important to him. These being factors beyond the typical age groups standard. Always deep in thought, though keeping most of it inside, he says what needs to be said at the right time. Some can mistake this for a cold attitude, though those close to him know it is anything but. He always does the right thing and expresses utmost care in dire situations. This in part with the various decisions the game allows the player to make (right down to sexual orientation) and it leaves a very young but mature mark, something I feel I can personally relate to.

Edit: And by the way, I love Persona 2's art style. Completely unique and not one bit typical anime. It was really just too good. P3/4's is definitely beautiful, but not as out of the box as P2's.

Very easy choice. My favorite game character of all time, is Chun-li from the Street Fighter series. Back in the arcade days of the 90s, when Street Fighter II was the arcade crack of fighting games, I would watch people play this amazing game with vivid interest. I can clearly remember seeing lots of Ryus and Kens (since they were from SF 1) and I had actually meant to pick Guile as my first character, but the "invisible timer" ran out and I got Chun-li instead. She turned out to be my best character, as people would furiously leave the machine and my uncle, who took me to the arcades, was laughing hard. Lightning kicks all day. Eventually, people started to wise up and began keeping their distance and throwing fireballs. Then, all it did was make me step my game as I got older and played more, and began to use her more effectively.

I guess, throughout my life that I've been playing the game, I grew up with Chun. I took interest in her character's background most of all, because she had a tale of revenge as well as having an actual motive for wanting to enter and win the tournament (take down Shadaloo and avenge her father's death). Plus, she was a cop/interpol officer and has a strong sense of justice.

Plus, she's just really hot. <3

For anyone who REALLY knows me, the choice is obvious.

Travis Touchdown
I been drinking so please excuse any obnoxious or foul language.

Now, you might be wondering. Why the hell would someone pick Travis? Because that nigga is me.

I mean look at this nigga right here on the left (thats me) > Image < now look at this nigga right here on the right (me again but in a fucking video game).

Your probably thinking to yourself, "man this dude prolly just set that shit up to make it look similar." Well, guess what. Thats me on the regular...true story...even fashion sence is the same....Now, on to some more serious facts as to why Travis is so godly. The game he is from is a satire, and if you didn't get it, stop playing games...kill yourself...or keep playing xbox because REAL games clearly aren't ment for you. Suda51 is so straight that greatness oozes out of this game. Anyway, aside from just looking like the character, he really is just fucking like me. Personality and lifestyle. While playing the game I was actually scared, because I felt like my life was being watched to create this character.

OH FUCK YES!

I actually put a lot of thought into this choice, and finally decided to go w/ Ramza Beoulve from Final Fantasy Tactics. IMO a great character come from a great story, and when i think amazing story one of the games on the top of my list is FFT. The story is filled with betrayal, murder, corrupt medieval nobles fighting for the title of king. It's story you'd expect to read in a play from Shakespeare. And right in the center of all that chaos is Ramza fighting against the corruption. An excellent game and my personal favorite Final Fantasy title. If you've never played it do yourself a favor and get yourself a copy.

Also Travis Touchdown is epic. I was thinking of picking him myself

Didn't take me long to pick one. Alot of people are gonna find my choice odd probably, but it's simple. Cindy is honestly the most likeable character around, she's selfless, has a beautiful personality, she's quite pretty, her dialogue in game is awesome "I found it!". And manages to be interesting to, she is the last type of person you would expect to survive a zombie apocalypse, but she makes it anyway.

She is also the most fun to play as, well she was for me anyway. Everything about her was just sweet, I don't know what else to say. No other character in any game has wowed me so much, Cindy is a character that'll make you laugh, make you smile, and in the case of her sad endings, make you cry.

Just too cool.

A no brainer for me, Solid Snake is just epic. Kojima san surely knows how to develop characters.

*BIOSHOCK SPOLIERS*

It has to be Frank Fontaine/Atlas from BioShock. I had absolutely no idea that Atlas was anything but an ally. As for the 'would you kindly' plot twist, it absolutely blew my mind. I also enjoyed the audio diary in BioShock 2 where Fontaine first becomes Atlas and gives his reasons behind it.

Overall his character was perfect for a story driven game like BioShock and it's Fontaine that made BioShock great. Although BioShock 2 had better gameplay mechanics I still prefer the first BioShock for it's epic story.

This is a hard one, for I wanted to choose a Resident Evil character, then I remembered something... The one person that took me through many great adventures throughout time and showed me an epic history of a little place called Hyrule, that spanned, possibly centuries. Link, short and simple, hell, he doesnt even talk, but he sure does leave a mark. Who could forget this little guy, who saved the world so many many times, without even questioning it or having fear. I grew up with Link and will continue to live life with him and fight evil, in the future : )
