Capcom has released its iOS version of Mercenaries Vs onto the Apple App Store.

The 25.9mb release is on sale at launch for $2.99 (£1.19) and features three playable characters - Chris, Jill and Wesker. The Game Centre-supported title comes with three maps - Dock, Fort and Castle and is playable in single player, but the game is more suited to the multiplayer environment offered through wifi or Bluetooth.

Get the release here, or click here for the game's press release and screenshots.

NOTES
The game's press calls the levels Dock, Fort and Castle. But in-game they're actually Docks, Fortess and Castle. No big deal, but slightly sloppy on Capcom's part.

Audio is largely the same as it's Resident Evil 5 counterpart, right down to the drum 'n' bass Seinfeld mix.

Being that this is touchscreen and at times touchscreens don't respond as quicker or not even at all from other handhelds. Also look at them ._. I was saying my hands would hurt of it being an IPOD. Other handhelds (Psp, Gameboy, Nintendo3ds, etc.) are just fine when it comes to playing on a handheld.

I'll give you that Ipods can be uncomfortable and a little annoying at times because your hand it blocking some of the screen but actually I feel the screen is surprisingly responsive. I've played at least 5 games on mine and have never had a response problem. It's pretty simultaneous as well

Loads more screens added to the second post. Will add more this evening probably.

Last night i wasn't that impressed, but once you get to grips with where the buttons are on-screen it gets easier - so much that i nearly started enjoying myself whilst i played through! Might give it a go on the iPad tonight which i imagine will make it easier...if a lot uglier!

I would suggest you actually PLAY with an iOS device before criticising response times.

This actually looks pretty interesting. Kinda cool that they have different modes. If I get that fancy iPhone I've always wanted next month I might have to download this.

How's the online? Laggy?

Uh I wouldn't have post other wise? Oh and I have played an iOS :D and another thing, don't we have people who are going to criticize on the topics being posted? The response time for me since I did have that ipod touch (1st generation I think x,x) but it was able to play Resident Evil 4 and had trouble responding to my tapping when I tried to move backwards for some reason... o,o? Maybe it was the ipod but either way I'll still try this versus mode out.
