I just hope this comes to consoles. It makes no sense to have a full fledged mercenaries game only for a handheld. And is it me, or is there a suppressor on Jill's AK? What's the point? And I'll be very disappointed if BS Jill doesn't make it. I never really cared for playing much as BSAA Jill. Too boring to me. But I'm excited to try out HUNK and any Chris type.

And someone said we shouldn't have Josh in the new Mercs game? Are you serious?? Josh is amazing. He is one of the main reasons why I still play stupid Reunion despite how much it frustrates me. And how can you deny this LEGUND:

Why not? It DOES makes more sense having it in a handled than in consoles: quick action gameplay while you're traveling, in the morning before work/college, etc. It's the perfect game for this device IMO.

The way I see it is that the main userbase who has played Mercenaries are console players. The Mercenaries is just a side game sure, but the reason it became popular, or played at all is by the PS3 and 360 players who kept it going. Not to mention, when people requested a Mercenaries side game, I'm pretty sure they had the consoles in mind instead of a handheld that hasn't even been released yet. It just alienates those who play Mercenaries and almost requires them to get this handheld if they want to play this.

Not to mention releasing this type of game on console makes more sense because they are technically more capable than a handheld. Honestly, I'd like to play this sort of game in all its visual and audio glory. The game looks incredibly pixelated at present, and I don't know what the on screen enemy count will be like. It's a bit early to tell, but I remember hearing the 3DS is capable of original Xbox graphics. Which is sort of an injustice I'd say. Not to mention, you would have to take the 3DS demographics and user base into account as well. Do most Nintendo users get a great deal of use out of a Resident Evil side game that is going to be rated M?

And on a personal note, I have never been a handheld gamer. I like to see my games on a TV rather than small screen. Not to mention, I like Mercenaries quite a bit. It's not just a quickie kind of thing for me. I put a good amount of time into it, so this would be a game that would have me coming back to it time and time again if it delivers. It just doesn't make sense to me business wise. It is very akin to Capcom moving the RE games to Gamecube for a period of time. While that decision was just a gargantuan mistake business wise, this one is somewhat similar to me. It just seems that since it'll be on handhelds, the budget and development won't be all that impressive. So Capcom won't try as hard to make it a worthwhile game. But who knows, if its a launch title and gets a decent advertisment campaign, it could have the potential of doing quite well.

Personally I think it's a good decision business-wise, especially in Japan where these devices sell like hot cakes. We'll see how this turns out, who knows... they could even add more stages/characters to RE5 Mercs that will be in Mercs 3DS. Personally, I'd love if they'd release Revelations on the consoles because it looks so good and finally a return to the former RE.

Perhaps I am. But from my experience, handheld versions of bigger name games always seem less impressive than the console versions. They seem like a shell of their former self. As much as I don't care for the God of War games, the handheld version aren't as impressive as console versions. At least to me anyway. They are good based on the technical specifications of that system (or limitations).

And yeah, the 3DS might do well in Japan, but a good bulk of the sales from RE5 came from European and North America. And since the PS3 and 360 are both huge there, it would be wise to touch up the game and release it to a broader and more established user base. But that's just me.

The hand-held system was a huge turn-off for me, despite it's "good for business" decision. The only thing that keeps me from giving the cold shoulder is the fact that the storyline is untouched and we'll be getting new material. I don't want to see Jill Valentine on a tiny screen, I want her on my Big screen TV! I'll probably just watch the uploaded Youtube walkthroughs of this game and pretend I'm playing it. :(

Anyway yeah they do need to do something special to make it worthwhile I hope there is some sort of local multiplayer maybe 4 player coop through a set of missions that would make it worth it for me because mercenaries is only a distraction if its only single player.

I will say some sort of story would be cool I mean make Hunk the main character and have him working behind the scenes of RE4 and RE5 maybe?

Having it in consoles would certainly not equal to having Brad (lol) or Luis in the game.
