The stage has been out for about a week or two, it was a stealth release. Still no Julius, Maria, or Yoko though. :/

Grabbed Dead Rising 2 last night and played it for a good while. Started out solo and then got a drop in friend by the name of Foxy who helped me out. I'm having a lot of fun with it, this might also spurn me back into playing the original.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Really really beautiful and nice game. It has some of the most stunning visuals I have ever seen. Its nice to see a game that stuns you with visuals in the post-post apocalypse instead of all thse games with muddy browns and grays.

Combat is a little simple, its a game that feels alot like Uncharted in ways.

I had no interest in Enslaved before release, but now its out Enslaved has been intriguing me. I might pick it up one day.

I'm curious, Other V, where the hell do you find time to play all these games? I'm still trying to beat Persona 3 Portable, and I started that in July or something...

It took me a while to finish it, but the last twenty hours or so I marathoned over a free weekend I had. Gaming is my primary hobby so I always make sure to splice an hour at least in between study/school/work/friend time and anything else. I also never watch TV, so I guess that leaves extra free time.

lol.

I played through each of the Origins stories in Dragon Age. There are six in total, Human Noble (I played as this), Mage, City Elf, Dalish Elf, Dwarf Noble and Casteless Dwarf.

I didn't think too much of the various origin stories when I started, but going back and playing through each for fun was so interesting. Each origin is actually canon and all of them happen, the only difference is only one actually becomes "The Gray Warden" at the end, the others just go on with their lives. It radically changes the game, and the way you think about it. Each origin story presents the game a whole different light, and shows it from a different perspective. It also gives you different perspectives on some characters. Some characters that may have been minor NPC's with interesting back stories in my Human Noble story are in turn major characters with lots more development in the other origin stories, and vice versa, and as a result, the entire direction of large parts of the game pan out completely differently depending on what Race and Origin you chose at the beginning. I could imagine the scenario in the Dwarven city of Orzammar playing out totally and utterly different than how it played in my human noble story if I had picked Dwarven Noble for example, and the decisions I would have made based on the knowledge I had would have been very different too. It adds so much replay value to the game as well, there are literally six completely different ways to play that game (A one hundred hour story driven game at that!) not even taking in to the equation multiple branching paths and choices one you are playing it. Bioware I F'ing Love you! Heavy Rain ain't got nothing on Dragon Age.

My favorite Origin would have to be the Dwarven Noble story, it has some really deep themes set into it and a very interesting story and set up for later parts of the game to say the least. But they are all exceptionally well done.

A couple of cool tidbits, I like how Bioware have hidden references and homages to other games and even films all over the place. I found a few referencing Portal, Lord of the Rings, Mass Effect and one really big but very subtle one in reference to RE4.
Spoiler:
You come across a mountain village far removed from society that sits beside a large lake, the few visible villagers are unusually hostile and seem to be hiding something, they are occultists naturally. If you want to know more, Play the Game!

Now to start the DLC's and Awakening.

I'd definetly try it v. It's really well written, the characters are all wel done and you grow to like them all. Graphically it's gorgeous, some of the prettiest visuals I have seen, I really like there interpretation of post post apocalypse, a much needed look after all these grey and brown filled games.

The combat is ho hum, it's fun and even challenging but nothing to write home about. And the platforming is basically uncharted 2, no real way to screw up but fun to watch.

It's a game that pulls you in real fast, and really feels like an epic story book like journey. I am on the last two chapters already and it's pulled me right in.

Oh and using cloud, this little hovercraft is so much fun. Alot of times driving feels shoe horned in but in fact I wish they had added more here, it's fantastic fun.

I'd give it a really high praise and everyone should look into it.

Plus when a new ip is this well done, I do like to support them and try to champion them in small ways.

Sounds nice, I like the idea of a post post apocalyptic setting too. That and the characters were what interested me, so happy to know its well written. I'll pick it up next year probably. I told myself I wouldn't buy any new games until I'd finished most of the ones I have, I don't want them to pile up.

Darn. I hope this style of platforming (if you could call it that) doesn't catch on. What it gains in cinematics it severely loses in challenge, gameplay and most importantly fun. It's why Uncharted will never reach Jak and Daxter levels of quality.

Same. See Dragon Age Championing above.

You liked Mass Effect right? You should really give Dragon Age a try.
