I have noticed that the Leon in resident evil 4 was pretty much all around awesome. Everything from his character model to his attitude..

It seems though that everything good about him has changed, In the "degeneration" movie they took away his personality along with his humor. They also did this in "The Dark Side Chronicles" Whats up with that? Can they not reuse his previous face model? They kept his voice but totally raped the dialog..At the moment it isn't just a HUGE deal but I worry that it will carry into future games such as "Resident Evil 6"..

Whats your opinion?

I honestly don't know what your talking about. Leon to me has been exactly the same in all three of those. (Re4, DSC, and Degen). Most people think he changed from Re2 to Re4.

Maybe you think he's different because in Degen, and DSC he isn't the main character. Or in other words he shares the screen time with other characters. Re4 was all about him, so he had more "screen" time to make wise remarks.

Well the face for one has changed, in resident evil 4 it actually looks American with very different facial features and such.

In the attitude department between Darkside and resident evil 4/ degeneration, you have a point..It is a game based on the past so yes, his face and attitude would be different but degeneration is when he was supposed to be resident evil 4 leon.

In degeneration he acts VERY emo while in resident evil 4 he never did. There is a difference between being serious and being all around emo kid.

Here are face shots, do you see the difference? re4 leon looks American while degeneration leon looks anime(ish)

Well I think that was just the style of the movie. That went for all character not just Leon. The only real notable difference to me is that in Degen he has sharper eyebrows and brighter eyes. Other then that the same... As for the personality, I can only tell a difference post RE2. I don't think Leon acts any different in Degen then RE4 IMO.

I personally liked RE4 Leon better because at least he had humor and thats something I didnt see in the Degeneration leon at all. But the Degeneration Leon is still cool though.

Oops..I just noticed that in darkside chronicles "operation Javier" leon looks all off as well...and that took place in 2002 so i can't see there bring cause for a change in that either..Honestly I just wonder if they plan on changing the character into just a hardass that has no sense of humor and shoots things then dramatically walks off. I think (as the pattern has been going) that it will be leons turn again for Resident evil 6 and with the major disappointment of Resident evil 5 I hate the thought of it being a bad game with such a good character.

I made a topic on this a while ago but eh.

RE4 Leon was definitely better. Just a lot more likable.

I hated Leon in Degeneration. Seemed like a completely different character... he acted too "brooding" for my taste. I just didn't buy it. He seemed cold, and emotionless.
RE4 Leon isn't much like he was in RE2, but at least he had some personality.

They are set in different years. So that may explain the age problem.

But is that really an issue to anyone?

His change between RE2 (1998) and RE4 (2004) was certainly understandable, but his change between RE4 and Degeneration (2005?) made no sense to me. How he went from fearless, cocky secret agent to boring, emotionless "specialist" in such a short time is confusing. I wonder how he'll act in Damnation...
