i will agree with u on that she did help kill the main villian and save jill so she was a helpful charecter not needed cause RE already has so many strong femal charecters but she did help out

How is she not needed when she saved Chris' behind countless times over the course of the game?

Sheva wasn't really needed in the sense that her role could have been easily filled by Jill, and controlled Jill could have been Claire. There was no real need to introduce a new character, but she turned out to be a good one nonetheless.

Im a Jill AND a Sheva fanboy. Running around with Jill again would have been fun, but I enjoyed Sheva in RE5. Just be glad the story centered around Jill at least and she had Lost In Nightmares/Desperate Escape. Also I dont believe Sheva was put into the game just to avoid racism, they could of made a white character but that wouldnt make since because they needed a Kijuju hometown character.

People shouldnt even be thinking in terms of skin color anyways, shit, its the modern age boys and girls.

Although not needed, Sheva was a great addition. After playing RE 5 and getting to know her, she fits in so well with the other main cast members. It's like she's been there through all of the events of the series.

Sheva was planned from the getgo as a partner type char, just not co-op wise. She was always meant to be in the game. It makes perfect sense considering they were in Africa and a char like Sheva would be able to help Chris/Jill get around a place they're unfamiliar with but she is.

And as far as the left side of the screen thing goes, I never even noticed it until someone mentioned it on gamefaqs a long time ago. It doesn't affect me in the slightest or my ability to play the game. The ONLY thing that is noticeable is the position of her inventory and her map. And the only one of those that hurts anything is the map being over the score HUD in Mercs/Slayers/Survivors as it can be a pain to see what the score is at times.

I play Team Survivors near daily and I play as everyone from Chris to Sheva to Jill to even Wesker sometimes. And I never have a problem when I play as Sheva despite main'ing Chris and Jill, nor do I have to change my strategy or how I play to 'accomodate' Sheva. I simply play how I always play and nothing is affected by her change in camera focus. It's barely noticeable.

Honestly, the only people who have problems with Sheva being Left Handed are people who have problems with adaptability. It's kinda like FPS fans who hop into something like RE5 and can't play it because it's not what they're used to.

Give me any game with any control setup and I can learn and play it so long as the controls aren't fundamentally screwed up or unresponsive. (Like say a QTE that expects you to hit X+B on the 360 controller on a split seconds notice. That would be a major FU by the game developers to do something like that, or a QTE that expects you to hit up on the d-pad and down on the LS at the same time. Stuff like that where it's just fundamentally challenging to the player to be able to work the controls because of purposeful faults of the developer).

None the less, put anything in front of me and I can manage to work with it without too much difficulty. But, a lot of gamers don't like change, they like things to be tried and true and stay the same to what they're used to. And when you change something, even as simple as the camera being on the opposite side of the screen than they're used to, it totally screws them up.

Like some people can't play with inverted controls, or can't play without them. I can play with either. Other stuff like games where an attack places your controls to be reversed so up is down, down is up, left is right, right is left or flips your screen to make you drive upside down etc. Tons of people can't handle that stuff, and while disorienting, I can still usually play through it, not nearly at my best, but, I can manage to keep my car or character going at the very least under those conditions.

Again, a lot of people can't though. It's just all about adaptability. Just taking the change with stride and dealing with it rather than focusing on the fact it changed and getting frustrated by it.

Maybe if you were a member of the B.S.A.A. or otherwise equivalant military organization like Sheva was rather than some generic random civilian thus making the comparison rather irrelevant :P

Edit: I read your post as 'should' instead of 'could'. I get your point. But, obviously Sheva did have knowledge of Africa, as a great number of people from an area would. So when writing something, including a character from the area to serve as a tour guide of the area is completely acceptable, and thus arguing that just because they're from the area doesn't mean they would know the area is kind of irrelevant as storywise it clearly indicates that they do.

Agreed; Sheeva is shit; most of all her AI and the co-op; i hate f*cking co-op. Hope that hype dies very soon. But as a character she is allright I guess. A little bland maybe.

Her AI is fine. The only time it's a problem is when you're doing speed runs etc. Because her AI is built with the idea that you're playing through the game at a normal pace. She works perfectly fine in that instance. But, when you're rushing around and doing crazy crap, her AI is going nuts trying to respond accordingly and do 20 things at once. With you running like crazy then stopping then running again, shooting crap, screaming orders at her constantly etc., she's trying her best to accomodate all of that. She is after all simply a script of set commands that respond to situations presented to her.

Too many people whine about the stupidest of things. Like a lot of people like to whine about how she picks up all the ammo. Yet, if she didn't pick up the ammo and left it for you, everyone would be whining about having to baby sit her inventory and constantly hand her ammo so she can defend herself etc.

People complain she steals their kills, yet again, if she let you do all the work, people would complain about having to baby sit her and her not being able to defend herself.

Plain and simply put, people just complain to complain. If it's not Sheva's AI, it's lack of Run & Gun, if it's not Run & Gun it's real time inventory, etc.
