Playing Silent Hill homecoming on my friend's PS3. It's not amazing but it doesn't seem as bad as everyone says.

I have no idea why I wrote that....edited.

Anyway, yeah, it's okay.

That's how I felt, until the end. Pretty underwhelming ending. Overall a bit below average, nothing special either way.

The broken combat killed it for me, so when I accidentally erased my save filed before finishing it (I was near the end), I called it quits and got a save filed with a certain infinite weapon to finish it.

To put things into perspective, I actually liked and finished Itagaki's masochistic Master Ninja difficulty in NG Black. HC's broken dodge annoyed me in the same manner as his sequels many outright stupid design choices.

The friendship system helps you get one of the other characters (I think a max of two) on your side and thus playable.

I like the friendship system, I love how all the characters seem to follow Jubei around all day and come to help during boss fights or when you're almost dead. The advancement from Oni 1 to Oni 2 is quite a big one for only a one year gap.

The water graphics are amazing in this game as well. Worth mentioning because I think at some parts they just filmed some water and edited into the backgrounds on a looping video.

Oh and the boss with the four legs looks awesome.

When you have great lines like "Hey sweet thing, don't you want to serve me some sake?", and my favorite "Let's rock!" (Magoichi), it's quite bad lol

It's like RE1. I love how bad most of it sounds. I laughed in Oni 1 when Sam gets to the demon gate, and the demon with the weird head says something like "To bad your journey has to end here, Only demons can enter!", then Sam goes "I don't have time to waste with you, go play with your toys!" Then the demon goes. "What did you say!? HOW DARE YOU!" in a legitimately offended tone.

Spoiler:
Anyways at the moment I'm on the Oni island. Just played as Oyu to find a flute to give to Jubei, and now the ninja kid is trying to kill Oyu, and I'm trying to find her.

The good part is that Onimusha 1 has a Japanese language option. Akio Otsuka (the Japanese Solid Snake) played Nobunaga in the first and 3rd games.

All the water in this game is looping FMV, but naturally the few splashing effects are realtime. As far as the game goes, I think it's one of the best sequels Capcom has ever done next to RE2 and remains my favorite in the series. I actually enjoyed it more than the remake at the time; I had a bit of a love and hate relationship with that game.

On a side note, despite the one year gap between releases, work on the game started 9 months before the original Onimusha shipped. They took a huge gamble and it paid off.

I've been ploughing through some old XBLA games that i haven't really touched.

Spent some quality time with Portal: Still Alive. Not sure if there were a load of new maps not featured in the original game, but some of the challenge maps were fantastic, a real challenge! Really did get me in the mood for Portal 2 having watched some of the new preview videos as well.

Played Assault Heroes 2 yesterday. What a mind numbing experience that is. Not sure i've ever played a game and felt so "meh" as i've progressed through it. Why did i put myself through it?!

Downloaded Gears Of War last night, gonna play through that shortly, though i'd much rather wait until i can download Gears Of War 2 as well.
