I have to say, the 3DS really does look capable of displaying PS3/Xbox 360 graphics. As for Resident Evil Revalations, it's really hard to get excited about it because it's on a portable console.

Far from it. Look at the games graphics, and for all we know, RE could be using pre-rendered backgrounds since something fully realtime like MGS3 looked like the PS2 game.

There isn't a chipset that can do console caliber graphics at low power consumption and cost.

Oh God no , keep in mind that images are displayed on a 3.53-inch screen at 400x240 pixel resolution.
3DS is very similar to the GC in terms of "power", but the graphics look just the same as the Dreamcast/PS2, if not lower, cause half of the GPU's processing power is used to enable the 3D.

Not quite, it's 400x240 per frame so when the effect is turned off it's 800x640.

According with the official website, it's 800 x 240 (400 pixels are allocated for each eye to enable 3D viewing), so I guess games run at 400x240 natively...nothing impressive but still much better than the DS resolution, 256 x 192 pixels.

Oh, so this is definitely proprietary 3D tech.

guys if you watch the interviews on nintendos e3 site you can see one from the director of revelations and he said they will be MORE resident evil tittles coming from capcom but revelations will be new and original tittle form them. can it be that we will see ports of other reisdent evil games on 3ds? if so **** yes !!!!
