God copy protected saves are so frustrating. I didn't have my Wii on my internship so I played the game on my room mates. Beat the entire thing on hard, updated a good amount of my weapons to the max, and had a crap load of stuff unlocked. Go to copy my game at the end of the internship to bring home and its copy protected. GAH! Should have known. Guess I just have to do it all over again. But seriously. The copy protected saves have seriously got to stop. Its annoying lol

Does anyone know why exactly they do this?

This came up on THIA the other week actually. Apparently it's Nintendo's way of stopping identity theft or something ridiculous like that haha

Leave it to Nintendo to say something stupid like that... It just seems so pointless that I can't backup or copy my saves on certain games.

They must realise the save sharing is widespread (guilty myself of downloading RE4 and UC saves) and this is their nonsensical way of putting a stop to it.

Haha, same here. Downloaded a RE4 save the other day, that was hacked with action replay. All new saves like DSC are copy protected, though i heard there is some way to bypass this bullshit.

If your Wii is modded it can work around the protection apparently.

No Wii shouldn't be soft modded. Install the necessary software and you'll be able to copy your save.

I am also interested in how 'easy' modding your Wii is. I'm not familiar with the whole console modding scene so I don't know the advantages (other than homebrew and Brawl+ and whatnot).
