Nice retrospect, my favorite is Night, personally. It started the series off to a great start.
Never saw Diary of the Dead, but I guess I'll have to wait to the retrospect, to find out.

it's ok but lets not forget about return of the dead
gotta love that one (considering how stupid and cheesily funny it was)

Actually, I think you're mistaking Dario Argento with Lucio Fulci. Argento was a friend of Romero's but he didn't make zombie movies. He's better known for his supernatural 'Three Mothers' trilogy, of which 'Suspiria' is the best. Lucio Fulci was the Romero rip-off, famous for 'Zombi' and 'City of the Living Dead'.

Whats the 3 mothers trilogy about?
Ive heard of Suspira but never watched it

I'm not sure, but they're supposed to be good. There was also a series called The Blind Dead which has around four films, and there was a box set for them shaped like a coffin, that was released ages ago.

The Three Mothers trilogy is about three witches in modern times. The first film 'Suspiria' (1977) is a horror classic and widely considered one of the scariest and goriest movies ever made. It's about an American girl who attends a ballet school in Germany which is secretly a witches' coven. The main witch in that movie is called the Mater Suspiriorum (The Mother of Sighs).
The second movie 'Inferno' (1981), I haven't seen it yet. But I know it's about the Mater Tenebrarum ( The Mother of Shadows).
And the third film 'Mother of Tears' (2007) is about the Mater Lachrimarum. 'Mother of Tears' is easily one of the goriest movies I've ever seen but it's not as scary as 'Suspiria'. If you go with only one, go with Suspiria.

Again random post, didn't want to start new topic, but hope u will like it.
so what wld u say if one dude is going to make CGI "NoLD: Origins"? me never saw the original one. it has some returning characters for voice over.
Quote:
De Soto (director) said some of the casting is "a nod to Romero fans. Horror is a genre, and zombie movies are a subgenre that people have been following for years and years."

De Soto noted that nearly all zombie movies end up in an enclosed environment, be it a house or a mall, and he aims to change that. He's counting on the CGI technology that he and his New Golden Digital effects company are developing.

I found Suspiria to be extremely overrated.

The Dawn of the Dead remake is cool. I really liked Chips the dog. The movie also had a cameo by Ken Foree and that other guy too! It was a great remake.
