and killed a giant leech he surely could have killed some zombies

Billy is really the only main series character that I find to be that interesting.

It would be nice to have him back.

They should have tied Billy's squad's war crimes somehow to the Umbrella UBCS using criminals for their ranks. Like Billy was offered a second chance by umbrella but refused or defected so they had him tried. That could cement his return as a anti umbrella person.

It would be funny as hell if he returned in Resident Evil 5 just wandering looking for the remains of the village or something trying to come to terms with his haunted past.

It would be badass if Billy came back and thats all I'm going to say and all that needs to be said he was trully badass.

I think he should come back alongside rebecca.. hehe.. both of them are missing in action for years..

Billy Coen should be at least mentioned in future games. I haven't played Umbrella Chronicles, but I finished Resident Evil 0 just recently so my mind is still fresh. Although he never denies killing those 23 African villagers, he has a flashback where his angry commander orders his squad to execute them, but he refuses. He is then struck on the head, and he passes out from the blow as his squad kill those people. This means that he's not really a criminal or a murder, and I just wanted to clear that up.

If anyone has read S.D. Perry's novilization of Resident Evil, you might remember that Chris mentions a friend named Billy in The Umbrella Conspiracy. Now, I know that these novels are considered non-canon and often contradict the stories in the games, but I think it's something worth considering. The True Story of Biohazard that came with the pre-order bonus of Biohazard for the Sega Saturn also focuses on Chris's investigations of the disappearance of a friend. Although Billy was in the Navy and Chris was in the Air Force, it is possible that they've met. But is it possible for Billy and Chris to be friends? And is it possible that Billy was the friend Chris was looking for? It's a long shot, but with careful plotting it could work.

The novels give a new perspective and can provide the ground work for interesting additions to the stories in remakes or in the development of the plots in future games. I personally would think the story would be deeper if Billy served a purpose other than helping Rebecca in order to help himself. It would be very interesting if Billy was somehow involved with the Umbrella Corporation. What I also love about the novels is that they allow the possibility of multiple scenarios and make subtle suggestions that make you think that there is more to Umbrella and the entire Resident Evil world that meets the eye. What I mean by that, is that there are insinuations that the United States' government might be involved, or at least a secret organization composed of high-ranked U.S. officials, and a huge conspiracy. I love Resident Evil games to death, but I would prefer if they make sense out of the story. To many the Resident Evil storyline might seem somewhat mediocre, but I personally think it has potential to be a superb story capable of being a literary gem.

I liked Billy but other than him coming across the mansion he realy had no link or involvment to the plot. I think its best he stays in res 0 and res 0 only.

You know, i think the super zombie guy in the re 5 trailer was billy, looked like a bald billy.

I think there still might be a place for him. Anyone whose been involved in an incident turned up at one point or another its very likely his time will come
