I have tried numerous times to play through RE0 but i always stop. it just seems so stale. seems like a waste of my time. most recently i popped the game in and in about 15 minutes i got to the mansion and then i looked down and i had RE4 chilling there and well you can guess what happens next. RE4 is just so brillant. so what i need is some reason to finally finish RE0. maybe something to get me into it.

Sorry, but I can't do too well in giving you one. I've finished RE4 around 15 times now, and Zero as long as it's been out... well, twice. Yeah, now you'll never want to finish it. :P

I find a lot of it bland as well, though some of the music and area design keeps me in there.

Oh, while were on Zero... I'm not saying their night and day, in fact their near identical in most cases. But I do notice Zero doesn't have as polished graphics as RE:make. It's not a sin, though it did come out after. I understand they were in production around the same time, Zero only a few extra months of actual development... though I do notice a drop in quality.

FMV's: Some character joints are really screwey, especially on NPC's. Some arms look as if their PSone animations, disjointed.

Incorporated FMV's: Some of the incorporated FMV's into the CG BG's are fuzzy and show the spot that they were set over, you can tell they were placed on top of a still BG as in RE:make everything looked as if it was one. Also, some of the animations are way too small in playtime. Bottles rolling up and back every two seconds in the same motion, just seemed a hair rushed in some areas wheras RE:make, again, had nothing but perfect incorporated animations. You could stare at lighting drips and such for minutes and they wouldn't seem as if they were looping.

Now, don't get me wrong... many times I'd stare in amazment to Zero's graphics, MOST of the time in fact. Though I just had to add, unlike the release a few months before it, Zero did have a few faults that were noticeable.

Zero has some of the best monsters the series has seen. I even think it's better than Code veronica on that aspect. What did Code Veronica had? the Bandersnatches. Scary and lethal as they are, they don't compare to the Leech men and the Eliminators.

I totally agree.

It's certainly a great game in it's own merits, but when comparing it to the other titles it's story was really out of whack, especially for a prequel. The main purpose of this game was to tie up loose ends and explain, not raise more un-answered questions. As for the gameplay, while I love the classic engine I feel this was the worst form of it. The co-op seemed more gimmicky than needed, some parts were just plain "clunky." Then the items, it's great being able to drop, but essentially you start to store most things in a single area anyway. Then looking on the ground for them, why? I'd rather just have my nice linked and organized boxes. Dropping items was a definate plus, but also having the boxes would have been the key. Like I've said numerous other times though, it is definately a great game, I don't want to sound overly negative... it's just when comparing it to the other great Biohazard titles, I think it lacks in some areas.

Ya, I understand the Storyline sucked but the thing that you said about the box is what has me an advanage in having a box is that you don't have to search for your items it's always in that boxbut but the disadvantage to that is that you have to go all the way back to the box if you have to many items but the advantage to having no box is that you can drop an item where ever you want and if you don't know where an item is you can look at your map it will tell you the exact location of that item. :)

Are you secrectly in love with Rebecca? :)

Even without the item boxes there's still a lot of bcktracking in Zero. The idea of dropping items on the floor was cool at first, but it wasn't very practical 'cause your inventory was still limited and sooner or later you'd find yourself leaving things all over the floor. I simply hated making two or three trips just to move all my things from one place to another. That's one aspect of Zero I absolutely hate. RE4 fixed that problem brilliantly by giving you a bigger inventory and then letting you upgrade it as you progress in the game.

As for the story, I honestly liked it.

I'm just curious to understand why you love the game more than the others. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your view its just a unique view and you propbably have great reasons why you like this game, maybe its the first RE game you played?

If you want create a new topic in this section explaing why you enjoy RE0 the most in the series.
