I think with just a small ammount of watering down, the wii could handle re5. It can handle re0, and re0 has some of the best graphics ever. It can handle the graphics, but im not sure if it could handle it rapidly, re0 isnt that fast like re5 will be. I think a wii-make of re5 is a plausable idea a few years after the release of re5. Not saying its gonna happen though.

Real time graphics versus pre-rendered is the difference between Bioazard 0 and Biohazard 5, despite how good either of the two look.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: RE5 is just not meant for the Wii.
Remember how horrible the PS2 version of 4 looked compared to the original? Well, porting 5 onto the Wii would look even worse. The system just cannot compete with the powerhouses that are the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Well, as for RE0: Wii Edition:
The game is only set to be releasd in Japan. Capcom says that there are currently no plans for a US or European release. The only way they will consider releasing the game outside of Japan is if it reaches the popularity level of RE4 Wii Edition.
This news really doesn't mean much to me, as I can do without a crappy redundant port.

The fact that Capcom is showing showing love to "the least favorite RE game" brings me great joy. I will embrace any game that lets me play as Rebecca Chambers.

On the other hand, lets just hope that this isn't a cash-in port with little to no extras done by Capcom, which they are very famous for. And as for them revisiting Ms. Chambers, I think that it would have better suited to make a completely new game using the Wii's hardware from the ground up to make a side-story before RE5 or something. I loved RE0 and everything about it, but I really don't want to buy the same game with new (and not necessarily better) controls.

No, so stop talking shit. There was nothing wrong with the PS2's graphics, they were far stronger than anything the console should have been capable of.

I see no problem if they decide to make a Wii version for RE 5, but only if doing it does not require "downgrading" the PS3 and X360 versions.
I say release RE 5 first on PS3 and 360, and make it harness the full potential of said consoles. Only after that, maybe a year after, they could release the Wii version.
But for people that are naive enough to think its only a matter of "graphical downgrade", and some minor jaggies and poor textures, i´d say this: it´s very likely this issue turns out to be a lot more complex.

I would assume a Wii version would most likely have a simpler Artificial Intelligence, less enemies on screen at one time, plus the depth of vision and map could suffer a few limitations (i am not a game designer, but i feel these are common issues that happen when the REAL next-gen games are converted to Wii, but anyway, maybe this is the kind of question worth asking to the RE 5 developers, because maybe there are even more complex game mechanics that can make it harder to convert for the wii - perhaps the sun heat and hallucinations factors, the still unrevealed gameplay mechanics of the lead female character, etc).

That said, i can´t say for sure if the tweaks necessary to make a RE 5 wii version would make the wii version extremely poor as to stray too much from the original PS3/X360 versions quality. A huge portion of the public would buy it regardless of its quality though. I´d say i would give it a shot, specially if the controls added a unique dimension to the game and the game mechanics/design don´t suffer a huge downgrade impact.
But i would play the wii version only after experiencing the true next gen version on PS3/X360.

Sorry, but if you compare the two side by side(especially the portion of the Castle area with the lava), you'll see the limitations of the PS2 version. Granted, RE4 on the PS2 did indeed look better than most games on that platform, but you just can't deny that the original looks waaaaay better. That's probably part of the reason why Mikami wished to keep the game a GC exclusive title. At first, the developers didn't even think that a port would be possible, due to the hardware limitations of the PS2. I for one think games like Haunting Ground and MGS3, which were actually designed for the system look better than RE4.
Porting 5 to the Wii would be a much bigger ordeal...

Yes, it is. We're all off-topic here...
All the info thus far points to it being nothing more than a redundant port, which will only be released in Japan. I really can't believe how many people are still interested in this...
Guess it's just a conversation piece, which I chalk up to us having no new REAL info on RE5 or Degeneration.

Even though I'm an RE0 fan (which gets me alot of crap) I agree with everyone here.

An RE0 for the Wii would be pointless.

That's coming from a die hard RE0 fan.....what does that tell capcom?
