I find it very ironic and even morbidly humorous that this is the third RE game on the Wii, and yet the system is still RE5-less.... Needless to say, the system is building an RE fan base, much like the GameCube did, and sadly there won't be a big pay off for them...

I honestly don't see it that way. The GameCube continued the series and even reinvented it along the way, all true Biohazard fans needed a Cube. On the flip side the Wii offers two ports and a mediocre rail shooter. While the extreme fan will follow (raises hand twice), it's not nearly as important or mandatory as the GameCube titles.

I don't think you understood me. Maybe I worded it wrong. Those three Wii RE games may be just ports and a rail shooter, but... they are the ONLY RE games available on a current-generation console. As a result, Wii has a greater chance of obtaining new fans than either PS3 or 360 do. Oh sure, you can find the series on GameCube, but these days the only thing anyone will find is the occasional pre-owned copy of RE4 or REmake at the back of the store . But on the Wii shelf, are three RE games. A new gamer unfamiliar with the series, won't even know or care that these are ports with motion controls. All they'll care about will be something new to play on their Wii.

I get ya. People who new to the RE series (like me) will probably buy it. AS for the GC, in my entire life I've only seen 3 copies of REbirth, 1 of 0 and I've never even seen outbreak, survivor or 2&3.

Well, some of the noobs and die-hards are all for it, but it still pisses me off.
Instead of this useless port, they should re-release the entire GameCube series and be working on a brand-new RE game for the Wii.
As for the availability of the GCN titles, used copies of REbirth and Zero were never hard to come by, yet 2, 3, and CVX are now nowhere to be seen. It was only about 5 or 6 months after their release, and I couldn't find 2 or 3 anywhere. Luckily, my brother was able to order them directly from Capcom for me.

Its really not a big question why!
Just on the PS2 RE2&3 sold over 8.5 million units.

Hopefully the WiiMAKE of RE0 contains I new game like mercenaries and maybe a special scenario for Wesker's part in it.

I hardly see the point to this. The Wii has its fan, but why port something the Wii can already play?

I don't get this need to cash in on every game out there over and over. But I know some people will end up buying it again anyway.

I can only think of two scenarios:

A) The new control scheme fixes what most people griped about in the past, while allowing the classic engine to live on.

B) A test drive, to see how this new method works before using it to re-create Biohazard 2.

Let's see how the controls work first. I thought biohazard 4: Wii Edition would be a mess, but it ended up being definitive in every way.

They're making a BioHazard2 remake?

Anyway onto good news:

Sven at Capcom boards says a new non-remake RE game is in the works for the Wii.

He says this about it:

Quote:
I can't provide you that information at this time buuuuut...

ask yourself, "how long does it take to make a really, really great game?" and ask yourself "when some of these titles are likely to have entered development?".

The combination of those answers should give you some insight.

Yay! :D
Having just read the link, has he edited his comment, deleting what you've posted?

But anyway...if i do indeed ask myself what he's asking...how long does it take to me a really, really great game? Didn't it take RE4 about six or seven years? When would it be likely to have entered development? I'd have said when UC was finished? In short...

NEW RESI WII TITLE CONFIRMED FOR 2015!
