Yeah, ditto. Prog, your idea for a RE3 Wii-make would've been cool. 3-D real-time Raccoon City enviornments...

Interesting... perhaps those are placeholder screens from the actual GC version since you don't see the reticule there.

Let's hope it turns into something good and not just cash-in port without no new features than the controls...

Biohazard 0 Wii Edition?
nice but yeah, i´d enjoy a BH2/BH3 wii-make a lot more...
having said that, i think releasing Zero in japan this summer just so people check it out before BH5 and BH: Degeneration could be a clue that the story of Biohazard Zero is somewhat relevant to what is happening next? Specially the bits about Africa and the village with infected people there, though Billy´s flashback felt a bit rushed and never truly explained what was going on in there anyway.

In any case, i hope they do a good job with updating the controls, if that´s the only change to the game they´ll do anyway.

Interesting! I wonder what these controls may be? I'd say RE4-style is unlikely, mainly due to the backgrounds being pre-rendered, but they could very well use Umbrella Chronicles remade areas and go from there. To be honest, the only thing I didn't like about Biohazard 0 was the gameplay system. The character swapping, no boxes and item management all felt clunky. With RE4-style gameplay this would all be fixed. The rest of the game, such as area design, story (to an extent) and even music were all above average. I'm interested to see where this goes, guess I'm entitled to hold on to my Wii after all. You win, Heath. ;)

...I'm more into PS3 these days

I don't know what to think. I'd rather Capcom made another original RE game for Wii. I don't share the idea that Zero was the weakest RE game. I love the game (though it did have its flaws). But with Zero already included in Umbrella Chronicles... what's the point of updating the original game?

Not enough is known yet for me to express the dissapointment some of you are. However if the gameplay engine remains intact and all of the elements I disliked remain, I'm not sure a few control quirks will help all that much, if at all. Kind of seems it's going that route, but I'll wait and see. Either way, it's a reason to go back to my least played Biohazard title.

Its the same game. Not sure what if any new features it has other than playing with the wiimote (which still makes no sense to me unless its point and click). Its basically a port of a game that was on the GC, a system that is fully BC on the Wii. Would it have made sense to port over RE1,2 and 3 to the PS2 even though you could play the PS1 versions just fine on the PS2, no it would make no sense. So why are they doing this if you can just play the GC version on your wii.

Anyway onto good news:

Sven at Capcom boards says a new non-remake RE game is in the works for the Wii.

He says this about it:

I can't provide you that information at this time buuuuut...

ask yourself, "how long does it take to make a really, really great game?" and ask yourself "when some of these titles are likely to have entered development?".

The combination of those answers should give you some insight.

Yay! :D

Well, since I quite new to resident evil, (already an expert on the topic though :P) I think this is an ok idea. It would probably be cool if it was run on the RE4 engine, but it probably wouldn't feel the same, cus of how all the old ones were controlled, either way, unless it includes some new features, I don't see many old fans of the series buying it.

Yeah, he did say that, he just didn't specify whether the said "really great game" will have anything at all to do with Resident Evil. He simply stated that Capcom will have some good, original non-remake/non-port titles out relatively soon for the Wii. So as for the RE part, that's just speculation. Sorry to piss on everyone's parade here, guys(& dvader), but the good news for Wii owners in general is, well, good, but as for RE fans, it just sucks right now.
Which brings me to this. It pisses me off that Capcom would do something as f*cked up as RE0: Wii Edition. The game is NOT A Wii-MAKE, DOES NOT have any special features or extras so far, and, basically, is just a port with Wii-mote controls tacked on. As dvader said, this is a useless idea. Wii-mote compatability doesn't warrant a gamer to pull out his hard-earned(or ill-gained 8)) cash and buy the damned thing. They're just trying to take advantage of the hard-core fans who "must own every title", as well as some newer fans who've never played -0-. People who've not yet played it and own a Wii should just buy the GCN version used from Gamestop for 20 bucks and then tell Capcom to shove their stupid money-making schemes right where they belong.

I find it very ironic and even morbidly humorous that this is the third RE game on the Wii, and yet the system is still RE5-less.... Needless to say, the system is building an RE fan base, much like the GameCube did, and sadly there won't be a big pay off for them...
