Anyone else feeling a little anxious about & eager to see what occurred 6 months prior to RE6 that's causing Chris to behave differently (according to the producer)? What about this event could be so important that it's changing his outlook on fighting bio-terrorism?

Chris has been so persistent and consistent throughout the series, but now he's changed. According to the producer, the Chris in RE6 is one we don't know. I have a strong feeling that Ada's involved and that one of the main characters may have been killed off this time. There's a subtle emphasis about this event in various news releases.

I hope whatever happened isn't some extremely eff'd up detrimental plot to the entire series.

Well in my opinion, i think this head injury and the fact that he lost his men in front of his eyes may have fucked him up pretty bad, or maybe in Damnation we will know. Or maybe even in this rumored Downfall game Claire dies or something and Chris feels guilty or something. The producers have been hinting at something big and said that only Piers knows his secret and has been helping him. We will find out soon :)

It is weird and i do wonder what's going on, but at the same time, trying to guess at what Capcom has planned for Resident Evil plots is like trying to guess what Abraham Lincoln's favorite Pokémon would have been... or something. There are many logical guesses and possible conclusions, but they'll do something way different than you'd likely expect.

I remember I was so curious about the "evil" Chris clone in the Revelations trailer, which ended up being completely misleading and made almost no sense in the final product, I'd never have guessed at what actually happened.

and you don't really expect that they'll have killed off anyone major to cause his grief.... right?? haha, who knows! but i hope not.

maybe he was involved in some event like the manga that's recently been coming out and he's depressed over that. my guess was that it had to do with his team being killed directly-- and that's all. seems like the most logical conclusion to me, but that really doesn't mean anything in this context! hahaha

actually, this just occurred to me.

I'm sure this Chris is the evil Chris clone from the Revelations trailer. He's got facial hair, a classically evil trait. I'm 100% certain.

The trailers imply the death of his team which shouldn't be anything new or exciting considering the fallen comrades of STARS (RE1) and the BSAA (RE5).

His character wasn't originally going to be in this game, and was added in with the intent to eventually clash with Leon.

Now it might be fun and entertaining, but I wouldn't look too hard into why Chris will act different. The writers want Leon and Chris to clash in some pivotal climax so they'll pin the characters in that position. Seemingly by making Chris vengeful and taking advantage of Leon's weakness for Ada. Chris is done with Umbrella and Wesker. Now they're directing his attention to the latest female antagonist.

Yeah, it's nothing as significant as the death of Claire or anything like that.

It is the death of the BSAA team at the hands of Ada/Carla with that spiked ball thing.

What makes this different from Chris's previous experiences is that since RE5 he has been promoted from an SOA to Captain of a SOU. This is the first time he has led a team in the whole series and so these men are his responsibility. It is quite understandable that their deaths would affect him dramatically and that he feels responsible.

Chris losing teammates is nothing new but being responsible for them would be another. In S.T.A.R.S., he was in a subordinate position and he was a BSAA field agent before being given command of his own team. There was also that raid on Caucasus where like almost everybody got wiped out. Chris seems to be going through what Mikhail did. But the bitter truth is that we the players don't get the chance to know about these teams to even care about them because they're the Redshirt Army where the sole purpose for them is to be the body count.

If the rumors of something bad happened to Claire were true, then let is be with dignity and not be a copout such as being murdered offscreen.

Got me excited as well. This game will be epic. 3 scenarios and a rumored new game with Claire in the works (maybe). Should be taken with a pinch of salt until it is official, but if it's true, 2012 = the year of RE!

I'm guessing Marhawa Desire might have something to do with it. If Piers is he only one who knows about Chris's troubles, then it would make sense since he's with him in the manga. Piers was also with him whenever their team got murdered and transformed by the virus. Either one could be the answer. Maybe both are.

Also he might've seen Jake 6 months prior. I heard Chris and his team were in Serbia 6 months before RE6 and the location where Chris asks Jake if they've met before seems like Serbia. Both Chris and Jake were wearing jackets which are absent in China 6 months later. Or maybe they just travel. Idk lol

But I was thinking about something the other day. Jake is probably really pissed off that he grew up without a father so he and his mother had to struggle all their lives. How do you think he would react when he finds out that he's never going to meet his father because Chris killed him? And vice versa. How would Chris react when he finds out that Jake is Wesker's son?

Would Jake be glad that his abandoning father is dead or would he be pissed that he'll never get to meet the guy? And I really have no clue how Chris would react.

I agree. It would be the same if you were in the military. Either way, its going to affect you. I also thought that it might have something to do with the Marhawa Desire manga (like somebody died?), but not everyone reads that kind of stuff. And if it does have something to do with the manga; how is anyone suppose to know? For them, it would be like 1/2 of the story is missing... well for Chris. I'm just guessing, but did any of the Biohazard books (the canon ones) have anything to do with the games?

Oh, and I'd like to know what this secret Piers is keeping? Maybe it has to do with Chris's physical (or mental) health?
