We've likely all heard them, but in case you haven't there have been rumors floating around since January now in regards to Ada Wong in Biohazard 6. If the thread title wasn't enough to keep you out, please do not read on in the case you don't want to know these.

It's been pretty hard for me not to hear about the potential plot of Ada having a clone, it has been literally everywhere and perhaps even a little birdie shared this news with me even before then. With that said, I think it's a safe bet that this information could be mishandled.

Like many leaks and rumors, things get lost in translation, literally. While I'd like to talk about the topic at hand and hear all of your theories, I'd also like to throw out a general assumption. The word 'clone' is most likely a botched term, more so I hope it is. I'm personally thinking the term floating around is originally intended to define 'another' Ada. If I were to guess, someone is portraying her while the actual character is either held captive or on the flip side, in on the charade. I'm not feeling the explanation of a genetic clone, nor do I think it is the case. I sincerely hope not at least. This also would explain her different physical features.

Feel free to agree, disagree or simply share your theories. Please however only discuss the information leak this thread is regarding (January rumors), anything else found out from this point on in regards to the same subject should be marked with spoiler tags.

I'm on your side on this, her being my most liked character in the video game business as a whole. As we have known for a long time, the translation process for the Biohazard games leaves a lot to be desired to put it VERY lightly. I share your hope that the "clone" tag is a plot device so that she is either held captive for a rival to show her in a bad light and use her as a scape goat. Or that she is using it to smoke out a potentially more dangerous foe. I also would hope that even though we are talking about zombies and tyrants et cetera, that cloning a person isn't on the menu. I'd rather see that she has a body double to fill the role of either of the scenarios that have been laid out already.

While I see that her character has progressed something just doesn't sit right with me about her looks. Other than reporting to her superiors previously she was the boss on site, so I don't see that just because she may have climbed the ladder of her respective organization why she would change her style.

And while I don't want more of the story spoiled more than it already is, this I might make an exception for.

I'm not sure if any of this calls for a spoiler tag, but I have a feeling that RE:6 will have loose ends regarding Ada. If there was a look-alike or even a clone of her, it probably wouldn't be revealed until the end of the game, maybe as the "revelation" so to speak. You can only imagine what tie-in's they will be doing with Leon and hopefully, Ada will have more hands on moments and character development. Considering we find that Chris has an attachment with her in hate as Leon does with affection with her- I think that the fact Chris wants her dead will yield a controversial result such as having us believe that she has died, when once again- she has only made a tactical disappearance. (RE: 2 anyone?)

Yet again...I don't want to say that Capcom is predictable, but do you really think they will give her a happy ending? Where a possible clone or what have you fits into this, I really don't know. I'm not all that thrilled about the idea, yet I don't like to see Ada in such a desperate situation. Being hunted by Chris's lust for revenge in a way he had felt for Wesker.

I know the comments aren't in any way helpful or knowledgeable, but I have a weird feeling that it will contain the hype that RE:5 did. "Who is the birdlady? Will Wesker die?" All of the answers were painfully obvious, yet the speculation and "proof" was a token of ridiculousness. From what the trailer has shown and what the directors talk about regarding going back into survival horror and fear- it doesn't seem to match up. And the Revelations trailer being so different from the in-game cutscenes- I think any and all speculation until the month of release is all fair game, unless it is, in the least, common sense.

I think these rumors are a product of unacceptance. Seriously? Ada clone? cloning isnt farfetched in the world of RE but just because you dont like the fact that shes a possible villain, doesn't meanshe isnt. If their were going to do the whole clone thing, it wouldnt be Ada. Even her having a double is an attempt to say "thats not my Ada!"Its either her or someone completely unrelated. And its probably just her, finally ame to light after Weskers death.

The new trailer already implies in the opening exchange with Ada that she may be captured as I pointed out in the other topic.

But the body double 'clone' idea is a good one and would explain the carla name. It would fit just fine to have carla impersonating Ada for nefarious purposes.

I wouldn't mind a Ada lookalike, but I sincerely hope it's not an actual clone.

As I mentioned in another thread I know cloning is a possibility in the RE universe, but its just a horrible story tool that's been way overused in my opinion. I think Capcom can do much better, and give the story a real twist instead of resorting to "Oh its a clone..".

I'm not sure to believe if this woman (Carla) is a clone of Ada. If it is, then they would have to add more about the cloning. It seems that they're taking ideas from the movies.
I can say that when I watched the trailer, and saw what she did to the BSAA unit, I was in shock and and was like "What? Did Ada just do that?! This is not the Ada that I know." I don't think Ada would've have done what this woman (Carla) is doing. Ada wouldn't infect people purposely or torture anyone for the fun of it either.

Think about her part in RE 2 and RE 4. IN RE 2, she was sent to get the G-virus. She asked questions, tried to get to the point of the areas, people and whatever she needed. When she was questioned, she avoided them or lied. She had the opportunity to kill, but she never did. She saved Leon's life too. In RE 4, she was sent to get the las plagas sample. She tried to avoid Leon as much as possible to protect him, but helped him along the way. She asked Luis about the sample and I guess was willing to help him. When he asked her where she stands, she didn't want to answer him, saying it was better off not knowing. She was given orders by Wesker to kill Leon, but she didn't. She saved him several times and helped him in battle with Saddler. Plus,Ada mentioned of having her own objective in her report in RE 4. I'm still wondering what that objective is.

But then again, there may be a twist, like there's is in most games. Maybe the woman is Ada's clone, and we just have to see how it came to be, and what happened to the real Ada. Maybe this woman is a relative of Ada, like a twin sister. We don't know much about Ada and it would be interesting to know what happened to her and how she became what she is. Or maybe, this woman is Ada, and her real name is Carla Radames.

Nope started back in january from a guy saying he knew someone in localisation(not US/JPN) and he had Jake's name, Sherry, and said Ada was returning along with the clone thing. To good to be a guess or faked.

Though clones are stupid I hope it is so that Ada isn't really 'evil'. could also be interesting with her(Real Ada) trying to prove herself but keep to her motive. would make me more interested in Leon's story if he is the only one to trust/believe in her.

Edit: omg I just realized the screenshot of the test subjects data, when I first studied it the visible portion of the letters from the first and last name looked like C and R. at first I thought Chris then Claire.

To some degree I'm happy with this clone information or theory, because the Ada we saw in the trailer is not the Ada I want, but at this point I'm not pretending to know "that Ada" with only one trailer.

Now, my imagination is flying, what if Ada, Carla and many more like them are just clone soldiers that work for the organization or tricell. The Ada we know and love from RE2/4 it's just a clone soldier.

The same way Umbrella mass produced Hunters, they are mass producing ADAs, not saying like there are 100 ADAs, but maybe 2 or 3 doing missions around the world.

Ah, I was unaware of that claim, makes a little more sence now. I was like, why is everyone so damn positive? Also, that would be awesome if they did to Claire what they did to Jill in RE 5. Make her that test tube baby it would be reversable of course.
