Today Capcom has released a second Resident Evil 6 trailer, first shown during Captivate 2012. Sherry Birkin, Wesker Jr. and Ada Wong make their official appearance on it.

The new virus in the game is called C Virus, and was the same used in Eastern Europe six months prior to Tall Oaks' outbreak. The trailer also reveals the release date has been pushed forward to October 2nd, 2012.

I'm hoping for another two specific character reveals to make this game full circle in the distant future. I can't wait for October!

The Eastern Europe outbreak is probably the one in Damnation, especially since Leon seems to know about it and he's the main protagonist in Damnation. This means that Damnation will serve the same role for RE6 that Degeneration did for RE5 in terms of filling in the gaps.
