I haven't done a marathon of the whole series in a long time. In fact, I don't think I've ever done it post-RE4. Now's the time, I think. In anticipation of RE6. That's exactly the idea. Play every game in the main series leading up to RE6. I no longer have the older systems, so I'll do it mostly on GameCube. When I was first thinking about it about a week ago, I was wondering which sequence to follow... the sequence of the story starting with RE0, or the sequence of the game releases? I decided to follow my own personal sequence beginning with the first RE game I ever played back in 2000. And so I started with Resident Evil 2. Code Veronica will follow. Then RE3. And then back to the 'release' sequence of REmake, REZero, RE4, and RE5. I don't have the original PS1 RE, though I do have it on the DS. But I'm not sure yet if I'll be including the handheld games. Anyone else doing a marathon this year?

I do this atleast every 3-4 months. In fact, I just started a Jill scenario on Director's Cut last night. I'll likely move on to RE2 and the rest after that, I always do. Unfortunatly, I no longer have my Gamecube. I've been craving a playthrough of remake and 0 for years. What I wouldn't give for an HD re-release of those games.

What is the perfect order for playing by the plot? I mean playing by timeline.

I always play in chronological order whenever I do an RE marathon.

RE0, REmake, the Rebecca and Wesker segments in UC, Outbreak 1 and 2, RE3 up until battle with Nemesis at the church, RE2, finish RE3, CVX, Operation Javier on DC, Umbrella's End on UC, RE4, Revelations, Degeneration, RE5 and RE6 when it comes out.

I have just put ORC in the category of "that never happened" alongside Gaiden, Survivor and Dead Aim.

If you have everything then;

RE0
REUC: Beginnings 1-2
REUC: Nightmare 1-2
REMAKE
REUC: Rebirth 1-2
OUTBREAK1 - Outbreak/Hellfire
OUTBREAK2 - Wild Things/Underbelly
OUTBREAK1 - The Hive/Below Freezing Point
OUTBREAK2 - Flashback/Desperate Times
RE3 - Up until Jill is infected
RE2 - Leon A/ClaireB/ClaireA/LeonB (There is no set path, all four scenarios have canon elements)
REUC: 4th Survivor
OUTBREAK1: Decisions, Decisions
REUC: Death's Door
OUTBREAK2: End of the Road
RE3 - Part 2
GUN SURVIVOR
GAIDEN (If you really, really must!)
CVX
REDC: Operation Javier
DEAD AIM
REUC: Umbrella's End
REUC: Dark Legacy 1-2
REVELATIONS: Episodes 11-1, 3-1 (Terragrigia Panic)
RE4
REVELATIONS
DEGENERATION
LOST IN NIGHTMARES
RE 5.

Have fun.

I always play through the series just before a canon RE game is released. My current order is:

RE Zero
REmake
RE2
RE3
RE CVX
RE DC - Operation Javiere (watching on youtube, I don't have Wii)
RE UC - Umbrella's End and Dark Legacy (same as before)
RE4
RE4 - Separate Ways
RE Revelations
RE Degeneration
RE5 - Lost in Nightmares
RE5 - main game
RE5 - Desperate Escape

I will play through series before RE6 comes out. I hope I will have Chronicles HD collection on the PS3 at the time :)

Oh my phukin god!
I always wanted to play it as TheBatMan has said, but seems like... imbossibru.
But thanks for that! I'll copy it to maybe play it someday :D

DarkChris and ManHunter lists was good also. I have always played one game through and then started another, never thought to stop and switch like it should be in RE2 - RE3.

I'm also going to do marathon before RE6 is out
