I'm still addicted to the Souls series. It really is a shame that Demon's Souls' activity has gone down so much, I prefer it over Dark Souls in most ways. I don't think I will ever get bored of invading other players, thinking of all the progress I've made them lose, and all the hatemail I will surely receive. I never understood people who ask for PvP etiquette in an invasion scenario. I invaded, uninvited, with the intentional of killing. End of story. The same goes for when I get invaded- That invader is uninvited, and I will fight dirty in order to kill them. I will only respect etiquette in a proper duel accepted by both players.

I would agree with you glue, but I just started playing the game a couple days ago and I got my first taste of the pvp system. Now had the guy just killed me and called it a day that would have been fine, but before he killed me he decided to obliterate all my equipment, so not only did he cost me the progress, he also made sure that I would have to spend the maximum amount to continue my game. I'm all for pvp, but this game is quite hard enough without someone being flat out evil and trying to ruin the experience. Pvp should always be optional in any game, although there are some exceptions.

At the very least you should be able to flee if you feel that you are outgunned.

Just finished playing through Indigo Prophecy for the first time in two years, started yesterday since I wasn't doing anything and went straight through, only taking break to eat and sleep, so it'd be like a real movie.

Forgot how much of an epic game it is. Wish there were more like it...I know there is Heavy Rain but I don't think I'll ever get a PS3.

Only complaint is the plot gets kinda absurd in the last hour, but it's still a solid 8/10.

Ouch. Yeah, the scraping spear is a bitch. You can opt to play offline if you want, but in my opinion, it takes away a lot from the overall experience. To me, all the terrible things that happen to you are part of what makes the game what it is. Even now, at the optimal PvP level and with all the goodies I could ask for, I often find myself scraping along the bottom of the barrel desperate for some souls. It just makes it all that more satisfying when you experience success.

Honestly it didn't bother me all that much, just the idea that there is no escape is kind of ridiculous to me. He got whatever it is you get for killing another player, but it didn't affect my game other than resetting the mobs throughout the level. I was fairly close to the archstone since it was my first time being invaded so I got my souls back from my bloodstain. We should play sometime in the future, I'm curious what it would be like to have a partner in the game.

Sure thing. I'll start up a new character in the near future, there are level restrictions for who you can summon/who can invade you.

And yeah. The game is cruel, it isn't uncommon to be put in a position where you're entirely helpless against invaders. Part of that can be attributed to the lack of activity. At the game's prime, you could find people to summon in all places at all levels, which worked perfectly to counteract the invaders. The current situation is, the amount of phantoms for you to summon to help you has decreased tremendously, while a fair amount of invading players still frequent the game. I don't know if you've learned much about world tendency and overall server tendency (The game does next to nothing to explain them), but the overall server tendency is probably near black these days.

Also, you can only be invaded while in body form. The drawback of playing in soul form is that you have 1/2 HP (3/4 with the Cling Ring), but you won't get invaded that way. Most of the time I found myself forced to play in soul form anyways because I died so much.
