No worries, I can say with certainty that I did play File #2 online at least. I managed to get my PS2 working online, no easy feat back then. To be fair, I played MGS3 Online a lot more often than I did File #2, which I didn't play for too long due to the obscene loading screen times and lack of any cohesion between players. I could see the potential in the game, I just felt that it wasn't very well executed. A shame really, since Outbreak would have worked very well in this day and age, now that the online architecture is sufficient enough to properly support it.

The PS2 never quite did the game justice, and unfortunately that's where it's going to stay - in history. I'm not being a cunt, I'm simply being a realist, though some people tend to view those two things as one and the same. It's blind devotion bordering on obsession, a desperate attempt to revive a long dead dream, one that will likely never see the light of day again. The attitude that some individuals have in regards to promoting Outbreak doesn't help matters, I've seen the mentality displayed by certain people. As though Capcom are obliged to make a new Outbreak game.

If you want to "honour" Outbreak, then remember it for what it was and the spirit of the game will live on through your memory. Harping on and badgering Capcom about it would only damage Outbreak's reputation, imagine if some newbie to the entire series witnessed an Outbreak fanatic preaching on about it, chances are they would hate the game purely because of the attitude of someone associated with it.

Naomi's MvC2 online was far less likely than Outbreak and here we have it, with amazing net code to boot. Anything is possible at the end of the day. There is no better example than MvC2 honestly.

As far as the games legacy being tarnished due to a select group, I could not care less. To the newbie I say, "play the game and decide for yourself." That is the least of my worries.

Regardless, we at Biohaze have always showed a ton of support for the Outbreak titles in as classy a manner as possible and will continue to do so.

I remember a while back when I brought Outbreak to the Boys and girls club Teen center.... A majority of the teens knew what it was (dunno why as they would rather be shooting basketballs than playing games) and said Kevin was the best person in that game (well him and mark...) so I do see a future for Outbreak.... just not in the near future...

And so, Yama and I found common ground due to nonsensical words spoken by another.

Well, my friend, I'm not too sure where you got the number of 740 signatures... But, we actually have over 8200 signatures on our Support Outbreak Petition. Our petition is still going strong, growing in petition signatures every day. http://www.petitiononline.com/042690/petition.html

I thought you were talking about the outbreak support thread on unity, which only has 740 supporters. I was assuming that capcom was using this to gauge the interest in the series. My bad about the BS remark.

I have some interesting news to share. Our Support Outbreak video on Youtube has reached a new milestone of over 25,000 views. Fellow Support Outbreak member - RossForOutbreak created the video. It features the amazing Resident Evil Outbreak opening soundtrack along with our Support Outbreak Campaign image. All of our team members have really done an outstanding job spreading the word about this video. I invite everyone to head on over to RossForOutbreak's Youtube page and check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcefn-B5oC8

Also, my friends, if you are interested in seeing a few interviews with Capcom staff who worked on Resident Evil Outbreak, I will provide you with some links. The first link I will give is of an interview with Resident Evil Outbreak producer Tsuyoshi Tanaka, from the Computer And Video Game website. The second is with Noritaka Funamizu, an event planner and executive producer for Resident Evil Outbreak - originally from the Japanese website Famitsu. The third is with Eiichiro Sasaki, the director of Resident Evil Outbreak - originally from the Gamespot website. Enjoy.
