MvC3 for fan service, sure. I have stupid fun with the game, nothing more. So for that, yeah, I like it to an extent. As an actual competitive fighter (the name of this thread), never could I take it seriously. I shouldn't be able to learn 100% resets and kill combos a day after release, it's catered towards casuals and hands everything to the player without the need to work for it. Granted the game has some hot stuff in it, but it's hardly necessary considering the aforementioned.

You know I'm just messing with you guys above, but I am personally tired of that game. It's just boring, MvC2 all these years later still offers so much more.

Just about everything coming out has me more interested than the current batch of fighters (outside of KOFXIII), Skullgirls included.

Anyone here getting SCV?

You know I'm just messing with you guys above, but I am personally tired of that game. It's just boring, MvC2 all these years later still offers so much more.

Your personal opinion on the game, while completely meritted obviously, doesn't change the fact MvC3/U get tons of competitive play and tournament recognition. Thus it still is a competitive fighter even if you disagree.

Also, I feel a lot of nostalgia has to do with your mvc2/3 love/hate. Being able to do combo's easily doesn't effect the competitive value of a game unless you believe execution should be the determining factor in who wins or not rather than strategy.

Think of it like when you see those movies with some guy showing off all these crazy martial arts moves he can do that the other guy can't, yet then he gets beaten simply by being outsmarted by something incredibly simple.

I completely understand the desire to want something that challenges you. The higher execution obviously would appeal to you for that reason. I just don't agree with dismissing the competitive value of something due to it not requiring godly execution.

And in regards to the 'hands everything to the player without the need to work for it comment'. Yes, the game makes most stuff pretty easy to do. But, that doesn't mean you aren't working in the match. If that was the case all you would need to know is how to do a dial-a-combo from youtube, hop on the game and magically win all your matches. That's not the case.

Do you know how much I have to work to beat Sentinel's, Wesker's, Dante's, Vergil's, etc? I have to know everything they can do, how to defend against it, and be one step ahead of them the entire match and constantly keep up that pace and be able to adapt on the spot to any changes in order to stand a chance.

Not doing complex motions on your controller doesn't mean you're not working. Look at Smash Melee. It has a huge competitive scene and the controls for it are incredibly simple and don't require godly execution. That's all I was stating about 3 is that I don't personally agree with the view that a lot of people have that it's garbage basically because it's too easy. Again, melee is easy breezey to play yet has one of the biggest competitive scenes for it.

With all of that said, I respect your opinion entirely and not trying to force you to like MvC3. I'm also aware you stated you were just messing with your original post and I already knew that which is why i posted the 'u mad' pic :)

Wasn't looking for an argument. Just personally disagreed with some of your statements, nothing more. I don't expect you to change your mind so no worries.

Smash Melee DOES require godlike execution to do well, if you play Fox especially so. When good players play it's like they are playing a totally different game. They move so damn fast.
