Just as poor, aspect ratios were taken out. Like what? Asked Netflix about it all and apparently Microsoft writes the apps, so it's on them. Horrible.

Considering it only took one before, it's pretty stupid. Especially if you're trying to freeze frame something, you can't pause frames anymore. Before you could pause/unpause/pause for each frame if you wanted to see something specific that was hard to see in motion. With the double button press required now, it's pretty much impossible to move from frame to frame.


As Yama mentioned they also removed aspect ratio changing, as well as the ability to zoom in. Pretty much all of the options that were available before on the DVD like navigation bar are now gone and replaced with solely play, pause, fast forward and rewind. Everything else was omitted. And there was at least 8 additional options there prior.

Also someone on gamefaqs stated that they asked MS on xbox.com why party viewing was removed and they were told by MS that it was 'by design'. No link provided though so I can't verify if it's true or not. But, with all the crap that they removed from netflix and relegating it to apps instead of video, it seems pretty clear MS was trying to push Netflix out of the way to try and promote it's own crap that's coming up like Live TV and all.

And if Netflix isn't doing anything about the xbox app they're going to be losing yet a ton more customers they can't afford to lose. Whether MS writes the app or not, they should have some say in how their service is treated, especially if it purposely by design is made to make customers unhappy with it so they'll move off of it and use MS's apps instead.

Just saw this on gamefaqs and it was confirmed to work by multiple posters. Haven't tried it myself yet but I plan to when i get on xbox later. Just thought I'd post it here for anyone who wants the old Netflix UI back and wants to be able to party watch again.

Information gathered from that topic and listed here for convenience.

1. Go to http://netflix.com

2. Sign in and click "Your Account" in the top right corner.

3. Scroll down and click "Manage Netflix ready devices and computers"

4. Click the "Disconnect Devices" button. Confirm decision when asked.

5. Push the guide button on your 360 controller, then go left and click the "Quickplay" option

6. Go two spaces to the right and it will list all of your available Quickplay choices. Scroll down and click Netflix.

7. Netflix will give you a code which you must enter here https://account.netflix.com/Activate

Enjoy.

Also after activating you need only do steps 5-6 to reach Netflix again.

Just a note on the last sentance there. It means you need to use quickplay everytime to access netflix from here on out to use the old UI else you'll still be using the new one. And when you go to quickplay you need to ignore the first one that comes up as it's the new netflix. You need to scroll all the way to the right to get to the old netflix. Just clarifying because a few people on gamefaqs said it didn't work because they didn't understand this part and kept using the new netflix by accident.

It was like being at the Battlefield 3 launch all over again...

Totally asinine. why you need to use cheat codes to get an app to work properly is beyond me.

Ug, don't get me started on that. Biggest waste of time ever. Funny thing is, every other game I played after that worked fine with no fan no nothing, didn't overheat my xbox or anything. Only that damn game did. And I kept feeling my xbox each time it did it too and it felt fine, wasn't hot or anything like it usually is when it 'actually' overheats during the summer. And when it 'does' overheat during the summer, putting my big box fan over the xbox always solves the problem and keeps it cool. Didn't work with this stupid game.

So that damn game just kept crashing my xbox somehow, I don't know. It was fine when my friend and I were doing the co-op missions and when I did single player. But, everytime I tried multiplayer with you guys it kept shutting off 5 or so min into the match and giving me 2 red lights. And that's after we spent 99999999999999999+ minutes each time just trying to be able to get into a damn match together..........

I'm glad I only payed $45 for it thanks to black friday. But, even $45 is too much considering what I 'got' for that $45.

Can't wait for ORC to come out so I'll have a shooter I know my friend will buy too that we can actually play together and have fun with instead of this battlefield crap.

The old dash was horrible, it was like a bad myspace page. The new dash is a million times better and I actually think its better than PS3. I have found the community on the 360 to feel more connected, everything is easy to connect and see who is playing what. I am playing a variety of games at the moment so I may be sporadic in my play time but I will try to play with you guys when I can.
