Ok so we all know that Resident evil has franchised into other forms of Entertainment, Anderson Movies, CGI films, but whats the next step?

Do you think that Resident Evil would work as a Television series? I mean the walking dead has proved quite popular, so Zombies are clearly back in fashion (I dont think they ever left personaly)
If they got a good budget, great actors, amazing writers I think it would be pretty damn good.

Whats your thoughts.

I will love something for TV, anime or live action. Something better than the boring The Walking Dead.

I would love it IF they made it right... And not some random producer's interpretation.
I however fear it might be a too big rip-off of Walking dead.

For it to truly work, a television series would have to be shown on HBO or Starz to make it work with all the extreme violence, dismemberment of random people, and vulgar language. It would be most fitting on the
"Starz" network.

Backstories on our favorite characters would be too boring because audiences would be expecting monsters and gunplay. A physical reneactment on Wesker's Report II would be interesting.

I'd really like to see a tv adaptation from the games, but I see them more based around the movies (to get more $$$). I want to see what a person with heavy training would do during this kind of situation, not the typical "omg i'm helpless" we usually see.

It would be hard to do with budgeting. I agree with manhunter, I think it would work well on Starz.

Of course I'd like an RE television series that resembled the games. I think about things like this sometimes and how you could make it work. I myself have a dream to become a director/writer so I wonder what I would do if I ever had the chance for something like this. I probably wouldn't touch anything RE actually.

I prefer them as games. I think The Walking Dead is enough for me for now.

An anime would be fantastic. As for TV series I don't think so as it won't represent the game for sure

Personally I care little about other media, except for the CG movies and maybe some of the comics and novels.
I don't think a TV series would turn out as fans expect (ie. like P.A.'s horseshit movies).

Capcom needs to do their own reboot of the RE movies after the Anderson crap is over, though. This guy did a pretty great job in just 10 minutes. According to Shock Till You Drop, he also was invited to the filming of the first RE movie back in 2001.

That will be a long time after RE This Has Been Going on Too Long(or RE13) they might. I was thinking of making some short films on Youtube. Making something actually based on the Series.

People complain that the movies are good because they would suck if they were word for word to the games, but since that was over 10 years ago when the games came out and graphics weren't anything special they would rock if they were word for word

A tv adaption wouldn't work. It'd be mangled and so far removed from the existing canon much like the movies.

Plus the budget would be too expensive to try and incorporate all the various BOWs regularily into a tv show. The movies barely incorporate them as it is.

Its best for them to stick with the CG films.
