I've been thinking about this recently, and it seems kinda lazy that they didn't add any new maps.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE all the new stuff we did get, but I've played through Public Assembly and all that so many times in regular mercs and versus that, even though the enemy placements are slightly altered in Reunion, Reunion already feels a tad stale to me.

Maybe they'll do this later, who knows, but I just feel like there are so many areas in LiN and DE that could of made great mercs stages.

Like in LiN, the whole mansion itself would of been great (with the doors removed, or at least with the FPS view of the doors taken out), spawn 150 enemies and have the keeper be the boss of the place, and there's lots of room to hide time and combo bonuses.

The sewer area would have been a good place as well, maybe even work better since there's so many changes in elevation! That area would of been so fun, and maybe even have one or two hidden dead guys in the water that count as enemies, instead of a chicken.

For DE, the ending area seems obvious, but that whole place feels a bit small to me. Having the first area you start in would be the best I think. Lots of room to manuver, and there's already a couple chests there (that hold weapons in the actual DE), those could serve as the combo bonuses.

These maps would have to go to versus to, it would bring some new life into that mode.

This is really just me talking about something that may never happen, but yeah, what do all of you think would of made good extra maps? I thought this would be a decent discussion. :)

I would have loved that quite a bit, it seemed an obvious choice, just charge for two new areas from the dlc, maybe throw in a skin or two for the new characters....it feels like yet another so close, yet so far scenario with Capcom getting it all right.

Hopefully, but i would place more on them just releasing more costumes, or perhaps the patch to allow for the old character to mix with new.

There isn't a single re5 player who hasn't had the same thought when Reunion was released and there was no new maps added. It was just laziness on capcom's behalf. With LiN I could see them not wanting to do new maps for the purpose of majini in the mansion would piss a lot of people off and they'd be too lazy to make actual zombies. But at LEAST they could have added new maps from DE if nothing else.

Either way, put majini in the mansion for a reunion map I don't care. So long as it's an actual new map.

Yeah that would have been a great idea! What about this idea that i just thought of. Since it was called reunion, and Barry and Rebecca were both in it (even thought they aren't in Re5) maybe they could add some classic levels for mercs. Perhaps playing in the Raccon city Police Department or The Training Facilcity from Re0. They could even have a level from the Mansion in Raccoon City.

Granted this would take a lot on Capcom's part to produce, but how cool would it be to run around shooting enemies Mercs style in the RPD. I think that would be sweet!

^"New" maps like Raccoon city would require them actually putting effort in and creating entirely new maps just for Reunion. They couldn't even be bothered to use the existing LiN or DE setpieces for 'new' maps let alone create entirely new exclusive ones so.

As much as I'd love a Raccoon City map, I just wish they would have at least added a LiN or DE setpiece for a new map or even some random setpiece from RE5 itself just to have something new to play on.

So...people are still throwing the laziness card at Capcom in spite of the material that half of the Mercs Reunion material was attached to?

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Not really Stu. It would of been so easy to make these new maps, like I said I love all the stuff we did get, but it just feels like they forgot something that would of been so simple.

It strikes me people say X or Y thing is "so easy" to do but they never worked making video games.

As for wanting new maps, hell yes. Desperate Escape map would be great, or even some other area from the main game (Oil Refinery, Port). I'm not sure if LiN would work though.

Why not? The sewer section is big enough, I can clearly picture time bonuses and combos being in the chests where the cranks were. It seems perfect for a mercs map.
