Give News Bot a gold star. seriously a gold star. Yama we need something like that here, forum achievements or something. given to gen pop members (non-mod etc) that show that they added something that greatly improves either the community or the community's discussions/knowledge.

So "The Organization" has a real Plagas virus...Ada is still alive, Chris and Jill still alive....everybody good still alive and a virus is still out there.

10 bucks says the organization is connected with umbrella and that this reboot will be about the rise of umbrella again

Hardly to be a surprise when they have so many people coming and going trying to tell a story.

The canon is so expansive (as shown by this site's timeline) now that it's just not logical to come to expect these writers to be fully aware of the series' backstory.

You make an excellent point. Ya they make errors in the stories because this exact reason. But to be honest none of them are THAT huge imo.

To be honest, the majority of them are caused by the English localization. The plot, mythos and timeline are actually near-flawless. Even with the amount of development teams working on the series, they still manage to keep everything as closely knit as possible. If the Kaitaishinsho (Dissolution) guides are any indication, they are extremely careful when it comes to compiling design notes and plot information. It wouldn't surprise me if the guides were actually the designated "bibles" which future development teams adhere to with each game.

I agree up to a point, but there are still some shocking errors to behold. The whole issue of Alexander Ashford's 'death' in Darkside Chronicles for example. A quick check of the Biohazard Kaitaishinsho book for code veronica would tell you he died in 1982. Yet other game sources indicate 1983. But either way Alexander's video message is still wrong. Such a simple error could have been rectified by simply playing Code Veronica as research, which i'm sure the developers must have done but probably for visual research only if anything. Even the files are all recycled, and i always got the impression Capcom were too afraid to create new ones in case it clashed with something already previously stated, because they couldn't be arsed to do any background story research for it.

On the other hand, there was obviously a lot of research put into biohazard 5 plot wise to ensure everything fitted, which it did, very nicely indeed. But then next to nothing done for Darkside Chronicles which is obviously a less important title than 5, but still should be taken seriously as we still all have to pay 30+ quid for it at the end of the day.

I've always just accepted some plot holes and retconning, because I figure Capcom just change their minds and introduce new elements with each new game (and I still believe this to be true, to an extent)...
But GREAT JOB News Bot!
This has me now believing that there may be some method to the madness after all. I just hope Capcom remembers all this and dosn't just cast it aside in the next game.

Resident Evil story making sense?!
What on earth is next?

Awesome post. I think I now want to pick up the guidebook and look through it myself for more interesting information.

I guess this gives Ada a good possibility of returning in Biohazard 6, which would bring Leon (and possibly Claire) into the fray again. Killing off Wesker was probably worth the investment to bring this angle into the post-RE5 storyline.

I wonder what Wesker's Uroboros research will mean for the Organization. I can't imagine them just ignoring it. Also, developing a longer-lasting version of the P30 might be a future plot point.
