I just rewatched these trailers, about Chris Redfield having post dramatic stress after the events of the Kijuju Incident. I was wondering, are these little events canon? Chris almost jumping off a bridge, target practice with Claire, and getting a new mission with Sheva? I mean we dont know what happens after RE5 but you guys think there is a good chance Chris might be traumatized over this thing now?

They aren't canonical. They were overblown hyperbole made in order to hype the game as "horror" even though it was pretty far from that.

Just because its a little cheesy and I dont like the actors, makes it a little weird. It makes sense if it was used solely for marketing purposes, but I think it would be really cool if it were canon, its logical that Chris would break after years of going head to head with undead hoards and other montrosities.

It reminds me of the opening for the original RE also. lol

9 times out of 10 these marketing campaigns have nothing to do with the real story. And none of the "events" shown in these videos are mentioned in any official timeline by Capcom.

I think it's safe to say this campaign has no effect in the canon.

Those are written by members of the R&D staff, though.

Plus the commercials just don't make a shred of sense. Chris is happy at the end of BH5 and has seen far worse shit to suddenly get PTSD and go on a suicidal hallucinogenic road-trip through Hell and start sitting in bathtubs fully clothed with a gun. Seriously?

The mind be a strange thing Lady, One moment everything about you can be fine and dandy... then for no appearent reason whats so ever, you can be firing an assault rifle into a group of civvys while singing "its a wonderful world" by Luis Armstrong while wearing a Diaper...

My point is... who knows whats going on in Chris's mind after RE5... he could just about snap from the nightmares or whatever....
